i expected there to be more to the Murdock cameo. happy to see him again, but it felt a little thrown-in.

the plot was like a mish-mosh of the best parts of the Clone Saga, One More Day, and Into the Spider-verse.

the banter between the three Peters was fantastic. in-jokes like Tobey's back problems, organic vs. chemical webbing, "I fought an alien. On Earth AND in space. He was purple." "Oh, I fought an alien, too", or that Andrew was "Spider-man number 3" since his movies did the worst. just great!

the redesigns for Goblin and Electro, and the explanation about how the "energy is different" in this universe to make Electro's power yellow instead of blue just made them that much better.

i anticipated Peter introducing himself to Happy in the grave-site scene as "Ben Reilly" but understand that would've been a really deep cut for most of the audience. there would've been a way to make it read easily if Ben's grave was also there, and they had May's maiden name on her headstone but, okay.

ultimately, they addressed the one valid criticism of the Tom Holland era that Peter was too reliant on Stark tech backup, and so not really an 'every man'.. that's certainly changed.

i haven't seen either of the Venom movies, so don't really know how/why Eddie would get transported to Tom's universe, but it's a cool way to get the symbiote teleported into Tom's reality

oh, man, i want to see it so many more times, but being in the theater felt REALLY risky given the COVID caseloads in my area, so it's probably the last public outing for us for a while.

When Peter walks into the apartment near the end of the film, someone in our auditorium ripped an audible fart and created a ripple effect of laughter through the entire audience. Like, I didn’t laugh at guy’s fart. Or the first guy to giggle at the guy’s fart. But when people started laughing at the guy giggling, pretty much the entire theater lost it.

Haven't seen either Venom movie, either, but I understand he wound up in the MCU through unknown means at the end of the second, and we now know it's because of the spell. Apparently the symbiotes share knowledge throughout different planes of existence so the symbiote knew Peter's secret identity subconsciously, and instinctively hated him. But Eddie just got wasted trying to figure out the history of the MCU until he was zapped back home. But not without leaving a setup for MCU Venom. Which could be Flash Thompson. Who could potentially use something from another universe to become a villain, much like Ned could now potentially become Hobgoblin.

Also I've heard there are a shit ton of Easter eggs when the universe starts collapsing, which I couldn't see on the poor quality of a drive-in screen. People have claimed to see Morbius, Black Cat, and Kraven, all of whom have or may have Sony movies, as well as the Doppelganger, who doesn't, but has a silhouette that couldn't be easily mistaken.

First off, I missed the engraved ‘19’ on the watch when I watched it the other night. Saw it online after and was like ‘ohhhhhh….Neat!’

Second, don’t think he’s dead. Or if he is, its setting up Secret Invasion and you’ll see his green carcass in a morgue somewhere down the road.

We watched Hawkeye. It was silly, but not so silly that it departed from the realm of enjoyable, especially for Christmas viewing. I tried Shag Chi but couldn't get anywhere with it, will give it a bit & try again.

No Way Home cleared $1B in 12 days. Third or fourth fastest to reach that mark.
But I looked at the top ten highest grossers of the year. 5 out of the top six are Marvel properties. Yowza.

It sure as fuck sounded like his distinctive voice.

I seriously lost my shit when I heard that.

They're home. The two best Marvel teams are finally home, to show these fucking "Avengers" punks what proper asskickery is. Because even if these are multiversal variants, they still exist.

I’m pretty sure it was fanwank, but I saw a clickbait article that had Tom Cruise as Tony Stark in the Illuminati group and I thought that would be a clever nod, as he was the original choice to play him way back when.

I saw an article breaking down the trailer that claims the same thing. It also claimed to see a blurry Cyclops and the Juggernaut in there as well.

so, in a turn of events i never would've anticipated, the entirety of the Netflix/Marvel catalog is moving to Disney+ on March 15, along with more robust "parental controls". crazy!

Agents of SHIELD also. But are they part of the “legacy” line or are they considered MCU canon?

Or will that all become irrelevant after Dr Strange 2 collapses everything into one universe.

I consider them a part of the multiverse after a certain point.
They eventually stopped referencing and being influenced by the films. For example, there was no snap on the show.

Moon Knight. First episode dropped yesterday.
Somebody compared it to the old Incredible Hulk show. Steven Grant is Bill Bixby and Moon Knight is the Hulk. Except Steven doesn’t know he’s MK.

It was fucking awesome, and I've never been a big MK fan.
