On my facebook I posted a bunch of pics from an exhibit I saw back on Thursday called The Art of the Brick by Nathan Sawaya (his website: http://www.brickartist.com/). He makes sculptures out of Legos. It was awesome.
Here is one (with three others in the background).

EDIT: OK, I resized it.

Sadly, those sales always exclude StarWars sets.

Its coming up on Christmas, I'm gonna have to start buying gifts for the kids. Some of those new Castle sets look sweet.

Target has the mini-figure single packs for $2. They were over by the Halloween stuff.

yeah, i filled most of my needs with a couple trips to the LEGO stores on long island and in NYC, but got a few more at target and picked up three more at TRU with the above B2G1F sale (since it brought them down to MSRP, as TRU jacked them up to $2.99 per).

All Legos are 30% off this week at TRU. Their ad also has a coupon for $10 off $75 purchase.

they also have the 'Bricktober' promo going on - if you spend $35 i think, you get a free 'vintage minifigure magnet'. if the promo were a bit better, or if i hadn't already spent way too much money during the B2G1F sale, i might have been tempted.

I figured you probably spent your allowance for Legos, but I posted the sale anyway just in case you hit the lottery or something.

Not a big deal, but figured I'd let y'all in on it:

Target has a Lego giftcard. Get a giftcard, and it's bagged with some pieces to make a crude version of their dog mascot. In other words, free. We picked up a giftcard and put $5 on it, and are giving the Lego pieces to Anarky Jr.

I was at TRU the other day and saw they mini Lego Christmas sets (Christmas Tree and Snowman), which I was going to get for a certain someone's twins, until I saw the price - $3.99 - for what appears to be a 30 piece set.

Fuck that.

(Amazon wants to charge more than $8 a pop!)

For Easter (?) we bought one of the mini sets they have in Target's stocking stuffer (or basket stuffer) section. The packaging indicated it had a man, two animals, and some bricks. Turns out, it was one of those shitty "guess which one piece you get!" deals. We haven't repeated that mistake for Christmas.

My friend out in Cali says he likes to buy those "Limited Edition" Lego Figures in the checkout line. He says they are like $3 or $5 or something. I said 'WTF? You're paying $5 for a single Lego guy?!? Are you batfuck insane?"

They do the same thing with Galactic Heroes and similar minifigs that are supposedly for little kids but we all know they're really not. They pack them individually and sell them at Big Lots for $4, when a set of two is between $5-7. I only ever bought one, a Plastic Man, since $4 for one figure seemed better than $7 for Plastic Man and yet another frigging Batman.
