movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.
Sky Captain was awesome. Diabolical and vyn will both back me up on that.
R2, if you're back there and they have Nacho Libre for $4, would you mind grabbing me one if it's widescreen? I've been to all the WM's in the area in the past 24 hours and seen no assortment like this. Of course, now that I've asked, I'll find it next time I'm out.
I picked up Team America for $3.99 at Circuit City. I look forward to finally seeing this, as I enjoy almost everything Trey and Matt do.

Hells yeah. Incredibly unique and vastly underrated.

I can just mail you some poop, which would be far more entertaining.

You haven't seen it? I really don't like most of what Parker and Stone do, this was one of the funniest movies I have seen in theaters.
And the hilarity of the theme song has probably been ruined by now, but I nearly peed a little the first time I saw/heard it.

Ok, I was probably going to stop at WM tomorrow morning on my way to work. It isn't the one I saw Nacho Libre at, so they may or may not have it. If not, I'll track it down on Friday. And I'll grab Sky Captain for myself based on all of your recommendations.

Nacho Libre is at least worth $4. I have the DVD but haven't seen it since it was in theaters, though I saw it twice. It's a pretty good combination of Napoleon Dynamite, Jack Black, and overall ridiculousness.
Costco currently has a $5 off coupon on the Warner cartoon DVD sets they have in stock, with no limit. And they were priced really, really fucking low to begin with. I just racked up.
I got Looney Toons Golden Collections 3-5 for $17.99 each; and Scooby-Doo: Where Are You Seasons 1-2, Season 3, and the New Scooby-Doo Movies for $13.99 each. (Apparently, Warner was smoking crack when they released the Scooby DVDs, as there are episodes and whole seasons missing, and, Season 3 should technically be Season 7, but what can you do?)
They had the first five Golden Collections (obviously #6, not out yet, wasn't there) at that price, and the $13.99 DVDs also included:
Jetsons Season 1 (I considered this a steal when I bought it two years ago for $18.99... Season 2-3 have never been released on DVD, and there are apparently no plans to release them)
Jonny Quest Season 1 (Maybe Season 2, but I didn't see it. I hate Jonny Quest and didn't pay much attention.)
Magilla Gorilla: Complete Series
Huckleberry Hound: Complete Series
and (I think) Snagglepuss or some other lameass HB cartoon
No sign of The Scooby-Doo/Dyno-Mutt Hour: The Complete Series (Season 6 of Scooby-Doo, and the only other classic, pre-Scrappy Scooby collection so far--I told you they were smoking crack when they compiled and released these... I mean, there are fucking Scooby-Dum episodes not available on DVD!!). I figure that's probably because it's gotta be a far lower profile release than even fucking Magilla Gorilla.
Strangely, no signs of the modern stone-age family. Especially weird since their rehashed cousins, the Jetsons, were there.
This makes me wonder: when will The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest (the 1990s reboot that, you know, didn't suck ass) be released. Or, since I'm the only person who actually liked that, will it ever?

Anyone remember 1st & Ten, one of HBO's first shots at a series?
I only remember seeing a few episodes, and I remember it being funny (and it had boobs in it).
I picked up the entire series (80 episodes/40 hours) at Walmart today in the $5 bin.
