A cheaper way (if you can't find the DVD set) would be to wait for the second wave of Mechs. If they actually come out; the first wave is rotting pretty badly. If they are released, Alpine is one of the pilots, and I think he's a more realistically-colored repaint of the DVD version, maybe with a couple of parts s
witched or something.

Actually, with the movie figures going on clearance everywhere, Ripcord would be cheaper.

I'm looking at the various Alpine figures. The 2008 one used the arms and legs of Snow Job, or at least YoJoe says they did. The arms look vastly different to me.

Here's a start:

Head: Ripcord
Hat: Shockblast (the comic version should be showing up at one of the closeout stores soon, if it's not already)
Arms: Viper (not an exact match, but I can't think offhand of anyone else with similar gauntlets)
Legs: just about anyone you have an extra figure of who's a man and wears boots

Since I just got a bunch of desert Joes, I did some part swapping.

The new Dusty's head is on RoC Desert Duke's body.
The masked Dusty's head is on the Dusty body.
I put RoC desert Duke's head on Footloose, which I think looks better than the black helmet with face shield that he came with
Shockblast now has Law & Order's shield.

The new wave is on Hasbrotoyshop.com. $6.99 each. The Cobra Shocktrooper is sold out.

Damn, they went up a buck.

I'm not too worried about them, but definitely want a couple of Shocktroopers. If Hasbro has any smarts, they'll release a future assortment with Cobra Commander (maybe on a different card), Shocktrooper, Alley Viper, and Jungle Viper. Maybe toss in the black Crimson Guard they showed at a convention that was never heard from again. Or a good update to the basic Cobra Trooper.

Marshalls/TJ Maxx are starting to put their GI Joe stuff on clearance.

FYI, results may vary depending on the store. It looks like all of the Bravo vehicles have been marked down to $7. (We bought the Mantis, but I don't it until X-Mas). Hall of Heros figures are still $6. (I passed the commando Snake Eyes and Stormshadow at one store, but got Snake Eyes w/ Timber at the 2nd.) Some of the ROC figures were marked down to $3 at one Marshalls & TJ Maxx, but in the same store other ROC figures were still $4. Some of the 25th figures were down to $2, but not all. I got a "Jungle" Ripcord for $3. At a 2nd TJ Max, the only things marked down were the vehicles.

I intend on hitting 2 more Marshalls sometime this week.

HisStank is reporting that the Wave 2 Pursuit of Cobra vehicles have been found at Ross for $12.

Insane. I actually ordered the Fury from HTS and it arrived a week or so ago. Why did I order it? Because it's so fucking new I hadn't seen it yet.

I saw that this morning. Stopped by a Ross in between classes today and they had the HISS and Fury. I figured the current line would end up being clearance out at some point, just not this soon. I wonder if it was a shipping error as in someone shipped out POC to Ross instead of ROC. I'd really like to get a Wolfhound. Not sure if I want the HISS or not.

I dunno. All I know is I have yet to see a Fury in a store. Very odd.

I thought the HISS was very overrated (the telescoping feature doesn't work well at all), but would damn sure be worth $12.

It turns out Ripcord's head won't work on Beachhead's body. The way the neck post is, any head that isn't Beachhead's ends up making the guy look like a giraffe.

There are ways around that, but they involve cutting and some molding. Truth is, I've not had the balls to try any of those.

You might want to check Ross again. Someone on Hisstank is saying they found the canceled wave of Target exclusive vehicles for $5.99.

I went to one today, but they didn't have them. They did have the Attack on the G.I. Joe Pit Headquarters Box from TRU for $12.99

Holy shit! I want all four and I don't even know what the fuck they are!

I do know there's a RAM repaint and a Trubble Bubble repaint (though I think they corrected the goofy spelling at some point, right?) in the mix.
