Well, huh. It looked shitty, so I assumed knockoff.
Dude's familiar... Is that Liu Kang?

There's a Live Action Cinderella next year. We got the teaser poster at the theatre a few weeks ago. Comes out next spring.
They did live 101 Dalmatians with Glenn Close. And Hugh "Dr. House" Laurie played one of her thugs.

Your notion of Disney live-actioning all their properties was a bullseye.
So far I've heard Mulan, Dumbo, and Pinocchio. There were probably others but I've forgot.

Tim Burton is writing and directing it.

I used to be the biggest Tim Burton fan. But he ain't anything close to great since Big Fish, nothing worth a shit since Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, and nothing original since The Nightmare Before Christmas (or Edward Scissorhands, since he didn't direct TNMBC). He went beyond embarrassing himself a decade ago. Now I just ignore him.
A live-action Mulan could be great. Stick to the original story more than the cartoon version, try for as close to historical accuracy as possible. I shouldn't see a single white or black face in the movie, political correctness be damned. Apparently Disney did try this before with Ziyi Zhang, who might be too old now to play a teenager but is still hot and awesome.
Of course, it will probably wind up a "why the fuck did they bother?" piece of crap like Cinderella.

The Crow reboot lost Jack Huston just weeks before filming was scheduled to start.
"Scheduling issues."

Too bad. Jack Huston would've made one badass Crow.
Maybe now he can go Marvel.

Disturbingly, Jack Huston looks like the love-child of Stacy Keach and Johnny Depp.

I just read that Vin Diesel is set to remake Kojak. Not sure if pathetic cash-in or single most logical idea this century.
