Wait a sec...what character is in the sequel (SPOILERS)?
Could be cool...if done right and it looks like Christopher Nolan knows what he's doing with these Batman movies.

If that's true, then all I have to say is "fuck". I had always wanted Kristen Bell to play the character. But we'll see where this goes. God damn, this movie is going to be crowded with characters.

I can't actually see anything on that page. For some reason, none of the text wants to load on my computer.
I'm willing to bet she's either just a female thug in clown makeup, or Dr Quinzel in a cameo. Imagine if we'd heard early on that Mr Zsasz was going to be in Batman Begins. We'd all be shitting bricks to figure out how he plays into a movie that already involved R'as al Ghul and Scarecrow. We'd be scared that there were too many villains in the movie. And it turned out that we saw him in one trial scene, and again in a couple of minor scenes with the Arkham escapees.
They looked pretty different, though they had the same scars. (I think the film version had far fewer, and it's not explained if they all represent victims.)

man, what the hell is wrong with your computer? it took a while for the page to load on my connection and that's a rarity, maybe you just didn't have the patience?anarky wrote:I can't actually see anything on that page. For some reason, none of the text wants to load on my computer.
anyway, here's the text from that site:
and here's the link to RDF management:Is Sarah Jayne Dunn (ya know, the chick from Hollyoaks who is in THE DARK KNIGHT) actually playing The Joker’s love-thing, Harley Quinn in THE DARK KNIGHT?
I pretty much dismissed the original news leak where AICN suggested this was the case and to be honest I still think it’s BS, but when RDF Management - the agency who the actress is listed with - has Dunn’s name down for the character, you really have to take notice

Maybe I was just being impatient. But now you posted the text, so I don't have to check.

Don't feel like starting a new Batman movie discussion thread, so I'll put this here.
I caught the tail end of Batman Returns on HBO this weekend. Michelle Phifer still looks good as Catwoman. Why did they make the Danny Devito Penguin some sort of mutant? If there was anything I learned from this movie, it is that Christopher Walken can out-smart a monkey.

I may be in the minority, but I thought that the DeVito Penguin looked much cooler than the standard canon Penguin. He just looked so much more like a villainous creepy pedophile. Plus, he had one of the saddest movie deaths ever.Rogue II wrote:Why did they make the Danny Devito Penguin some sort of mutant?

Every funeral should have penguin pallbearers.

Re: Batman Begins: The best superhero film of all time
He was totally inaccurate to the comic book version, but cool nonetheless. Same with Catwoman.
I think the Devito Penguin looked cooler overall, especially with the weird circus shit. But I like the role of "gangster turned supposedly reformed nightclub owner" played by the one in the comics (assuming Dan Didio didn't kill him off recently), and the Devito look doesn't work. They tried it for the Animated Series, and that was one of the very few things about that show that didn't gel.

Patton Oswalt should play the Penguin.

Re: Batman Begins: The best superhero film of all time
IIRC, didn't the Penguin from the animated series look like a cross between the classic look and the film version? I remember he looked like he always did (in a little tux or whatever he wore), but he had the long mane of hair like DeVito's Penguin.anarky wrote:They tried it for the Animated Series, and that was one of the very few things about that show that didn't gel.
Nay. Paul Giamatti should play the Penguin.Rollo Tomassi wrote:Patton Oswalt should play the Penguin.

How exciting is it to have a sequel without a number in the title?

Yeah, cause I was getting burned out by Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and X-Files: I Want to Believe.Rollo Tomassi wrote:How exciting is it to have a sequel without a number in the title?
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.
