I rolled my eyes when got Smith got in a fracas with some airline that just happened to coincide with the release of his film.

Kevin Smith has fallen victim to Sickboy's Theory of the Universe.

Did anyone ever see this one? I was wondering if it was any good.

I actually forgot all about this movie until I walked past a Blockbuster that had a bunch of used DVDs out in front of the store.

It wasn't too good, but it had a few moments. None that I can recall at this moment, so I guess it wasn't that good to me.

I just thought of one, a slightly humorous Boba Fett reference by Bruce Willis. Wait...that was from Die Hard 4. Nevermind.

I wanted to like it though, as I do like Kevin Smith, Bruce Willis, and (in limited doses) Tracy Morgan.

Agreed.
A sub par effort for all 3.
See The Other Guys instead.

The first Kevin Smith flick I haven't purchased. He should stick to his own stuff.

Yeah, no.

Looks like pure dog shit. That style of animation is tough enough to watch in 2 minute increments. I can't imagine 90 minutes.

Yeah, not excited about that one. The hockey movie he was going to do (Hit Somebody) is now going to be a mini-series. He is working on Clerks III, which will supposedly be his last movie as a director.

Kevin Smith Confirms Mallrats Sequel Is In the Works

A few days ago, Kevin Smith ("Clerks") hinted that a sequel to the 1995 cult classic Mallrats was in the works, and now he has confirmed it.

Yesterday, Smith was a guest on Rock 102 Mornings with Shmonty and Carolina, and when asked about if his "I smell a rat" message on Twitter indicated that a Mallrats sequel was in the works, Smith replied, "Yeah, that's what we're working on." Smith added, "It's half a script right now and we're pulling our loot together. We’ve got up until the beginning of 2016. By the time we get to May 2016, we’re going to be shooting.”

“Lately I’ve been doing this thing where I’m like ‘Do you want to do what’s good for your career or do you just want to have fun?’," Smith explained. "Nobody’s clamoring for a Mallrats sequel, but I would love to make one. It’s been like 20 years.”

You can listen to Smith confirm the news in the audio clip below. Also, to get you pumped I included the original Mallrats trailer below as well.

I love Mallrats, but I'm just not excited.

I'm not even sure if he's still friends with Jason Lee anymore (just like Affleck). He hasn't been in one of his flicks since his cameo in Clerks 2 (also like Affleck).

We'll see, I guess.

Also, Jay & Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie is now on Netflix and I couldn't get more than 5 minutes into it. It is indeed as shitty as it looks.

Kevin Smith jumped the shark, then had sex with it publicly for several hours, ending with a shout of "Snootchie bootchies!"

Wasn't he also doing Clerks III? And wasn't Tusk the first part of some alleged "Canadian" trilogy?
This guy just likes to announce movies but not actually make them

He just announced that Mallrats 2 is next, followed by Clerks 3, then Moosejaws (the third in his "True North Trilogy") and Hit Somebody. Maybe those last 2 are flipped.
Mallrats got pushed to the front simply because of location. They found a mall they want to use but its scheduled for demolition so they have to use it sooner rather than later.

Also, Yoga Hosers, the second in the "True North Trilogy, " has already been filmed and is expected to be released later this year.

He was the same with comics. There is STILL an incomplete limited series in my collection because he simply never finished it & the first 3 issues got released. Unreal.
