Hmm... nails are nasty. I was sliding my right hand absent-mindedly along some wooden trim at work when my ring fingernail hit a seam. A nice splinter broke free and went up between my nail and the finger underneath, then punched through the nail itself. Yeah, I was worried when I saw it, after I wiped away the blood. I then went into the bathroom and managed to get the sliver out with my multi-tool pliers - luckily there was some still poking out from where it went in - I would NOT have wanted to pull it straight through.

I remember when I rolled my ankle hella bad once. I was playin' basket ball (mistake #1 since I'm white) and I rolled the shit out of it. It almost immediately swelled up on me. When I finally took the shoe off almost my entire foot was purple and swollen. It hurt like a bitch for weeks.

Jump forward about 2-3 years...

When I was in boot camp I was having trouble walking because they made us march everywhere. So I go to the hospital at boot camp and they take X-rays of my foot and he showed it to me and asked what I had done in the past. When I looked at it I could clearly see about 5 little chunks of perfectly rounded bone. I had apparently really broken it and bone fragments were in there but since I didn't do anything about it they just sat there and over time rounded off. They're still in there too but I haven't had any problems with it in years.

The first day or so I had it, I had to take work off. I think it might have been while I was still in school before summer break, too, and I don't remember all the details but I think I probably took some days off from there too.

The ear infection was more freaky and annoying than outright painful since I couldn't hear a damn thing at ALL out of my left ear for quite some time. It was hard to sleep since I was just freaking the fuck out before I knew what was going on. The doctor said it was really bad, though, and the medicine didn't work as quickly as it should have. I think the worst part was being constantly aware of my breathing, since that was the only thing I heard in my ear (not actually hearing it through the air, but through the bones, or whatever). It always seemed like I was out of breath and it was hard to talk.

As for the pinkeye, that cleared up faster, as I recall. If "Knocked Up" is any indication, I probably got that from working with the carts, since one of them had a goddamn diaper in it. No joke.

I rarely cashiered, but when I did with this sickness, it was just bad (as I said). I probably got some people sick, but they were probably more freaked out by my bloodshot eye.

One other thing . . . when I was four, I was jumping on the recliner, fell off, and scraped the absolute fuck out of my back on the nearby table, to the point where most of my back was extremely bloody. I remember thinking at the time that people could dip chips into my back. I don't know why; maybe I was delusional from the pain.

I would have never thought about sitting on balls. I mean, sitting on your own balls. I sit on balls all the time. And when I sit on balls, it doesn't hurt me at all. Well, what I meant was, I would have never thought that guys could sit on their own balls. As a female, I would have never guessed that would happen to guys. I really never thought of it. But it does make sense now that I think about it.

I think toothaches are nothing. I'm 22 years old, and so far I've had 1 root canal and 14 fillings. And that's not counting the fillings in my baby teeth. I think I had like 4 or 5 fillings in my baby teeth. Yeah, I was a pretty unhealthy kid. So I'm doing pretty well for myself nowadays. What can I say, I love candy. My dentist tried to make me feel better about all my fillings. She was like, "Well your teeth are pretty tightly packed and close together, that probably has a lot to do with why you have so many cavities." And I was like, "Whatever, slut. Do I get a lollipop after this?"

I remember the weeks prior to my root canal. In a tooth that had a filling, the nerve was dying. So they had to take out the filling then deal with the nerve, and re-fill it. Toothaches are just a throbbing nuisance. They aren't real pain.

But as for my worst pain ever, I am not going to say cramps. Cause my cramps only last for like 20 seconds. Sometimes, they're bad, and I keel over and I get tunnel vision and I start to sweat(I know everybody cares about my cramps). But it's nothing I can't tolerate. Cramps are not the worst pain.

For my worst pain, I'm gonna have to say inner ear damage. I've never had an ear infection, but my inner ear did get fucked up this one time from a plane. I don't know what happened, but when I got off the plane my inner ear kind of felt weird. But as I made my way home, it got worse. By the time I got home, I was like a vegetable. My balance was off and I had never felt pain like that before in my life. It lasted for like 5 hours. I just layed on the floor. Eventually, I went to sleep, and when I woke up it was gone.

I think I have a somewhat high pain tolerance, but inner ear pain is not something I wish to tolerate ever again.

And I don't want to imagine what a torn eardrum must feel like. Ear pain is the worst.

Maybe someday, I'll get an abortion and I'll change my answer. But as for now, it's inner ear pain.

I got a finger in the bum at the doctor's office once, and that didn't feel very fucking nice either. Not quite sure how people take pleasure in that - must be an "acquired taste".

Oh, fingernails. It wasn't the worst pain ever, but I stuck an exacto-knife through my thumbnail once.

Back to the sitting on your own balls thing, when it happened to me, it was the middle of July, so my balls were sagging down even more than usual. Testicles are funny. It's like they have a mind of their own. When it's hot, they want to hang out, but when it's cold, time to hide. Just like senior citizens.
