he keeps hinting at it. everyone thought it was going to happen after civil war with the sniper thing, but that ended up being aunt may. people were thinking the cover to spider-man: reign was the hint that MJ was going to die, but it ended up being a future-vision of spider-man a la "the dark knight returns."

the newest cover of wizard mag is yet another teaser of spidey holding a woman, limp in his arms and veiled by shadows except for the visible shock of red hair not in shadow. so who knows?

I've said this over and over. Spider-Man: Widower takes ALL the fun out of comic books. Will anyone REALLY give a shit about Spider-Man's adventures in dating and return to the singles scene if MJ is pushing up daisies? Joe Q is a moron if he thinks this will get Spidey back to his "roots". The character has grown in the last 45+ years and that includes graduating, and getting married. The next step is having babies, not watching this depressed, mopey guy make himself dinner alone every night and crying himself to sleep because his hottie supermodel wife died.

So, how about MJ dies while giving birth to twins, Dr. Strange takes the twins and gives the girl to the Fantastic 4. He then gives the boy to Peter's clone, but watches him from a distance...20-somthing years later, Junior faces Spiderman on a floating city.

Or would that be a Liefeld storyline?

Spidey 3 was on TV. It gets shittier with each viewing. Today I noticed Peter had a dragging endless 'moment' with Sandman at the end of the film, while his best friend is slowly dying. Would those ten minutes of emo soliloquy bullshit have meant the difference between Harry living and dying? Maybe, maybe not. But if it was me, I'd a been "Hey. I'd love to chat about whether you killed my uncle, but right now I'm gonna get my friend to the hospital. Or at least down to the ground where there no doubt lots of ambulances and EMTs."

Spider-Man 2 is the only one I really like.

I wouldn't say "the only one," but it's the best by a wide margin. As well-done as #1 is, it's too predictable to anyone who's read more than one Spider-Man comic. And #3 is shit. I don't think it was such shit it deserves a reboot, but shit nonetheless.

I'm really getting tired of reboots. They're already semi-confirming a new, rebooted Batman film is in the works, and the third Nolan film isn't even fucking out yet.

Spidey 1 is boring as fuck and 3 suffers from "too much shit in a rushed movie" syndrome.

I have an endless laundry list of things about SM3 that annoy the shit out me (I have that scene of Tobey's disco dance bullshit saved on my phone so that if I ever run into him on the street, I can show it to him and he'll know why I just ruptured his ballsack with my boot. He'll be "*groooannn* What the FUCK was that for?!?" and I'll show him the video and say "This") but primarily it's all the goddamn coincidences in the film. There's like 20. It shreds my suspension of disbelief.

I haven't watched it in a while, but I recall one huge problem being that Venom is talking to Sandman about his daughter when he first meets him. Uh, dude, how the fuck do you know this?
