yeah, well with a bit of feminine circular logic, you'll never win one of those. little plastic dolls are not a necessity, but food and clothing are. it doesn't matter if the clothing will never be worn because the child already has too much clothing for the current size she is and will outgrow it all before it even has the tags off, much less the fact that there are much cheaper AND more nutritious food sources out there than mcdonalds. they are still necessities.

She'll never be able to wear even 1/5 of the clothes she has.

The worst is that I have so much stupid shit I never would've bought had she not insisted, saying that I have to get _____. Like that fucking $100 R2-D2 POS.

Whereas now, I come home with the Robot Heroes and the first thing she says is, "I thought you weren't getting any of that because the movie looks stupid." And I have to explain that these are the real Transformers, not the Bionicle impersonators. "You're supposed to be cutting back." I've given up telling her that I've stopped buying DVDs except for a very select few, gave up on all the Marvel toys, am passing on the SW vehicles, am buying only about 1/3-1/2 of the SW figures, the DC Heroes are damned impossible to get and the line will probably die before the next wave hits, the Transformers Classics and Alternators are dead, and the Robot Heroes will probably be a one-off thing.

I guess that's the one upside to not having a significant female other in my life. I can buy whatever I want and nobody says shit.

Oh, gaddamn it. I just spent twenty minutes typing out what I read yesterday and today and I hit some button combo and the entire fucking thing dissappeared. Fuckit all!! :x  :x  :x

Here's the short version.

Ultimate Spidey. Second to last issue of Mark Bagley's run. After next issue I'm done with Ultimate books.

Sensational Spidey. I thought Eddie Brock was dead, but apparently they needed to bring him back because of the movie.

X-Men Endangered Species. Total letdown. A mutant DIES! Yeah, but it was a nobody mutant that noone has ever heard of or will ever hear of again.

Fallen Son: Spider-Man. Great David Finch art, but a weak story mostly filled with an unnecassary Rhino fight.

Flash. BART ALLEN DIES. The end of the series. Yup. Not kidding here. They rebooted the entire series and then kill him off a year later. Way to go DC.

Wolverine Origins #15 - I'm getting sick and tired of nothing much happening each and every month.

The Boys #8 - Still getting into the story/characters, but good, funny superhero bitch slapping from Ennis.

Criminal #7 - Part 2 of the new story arc, which ties in a bit with the first. Great stuff.

Daredevil #98 - As good as the Gladiator arc has been, I get the feeling it is just the set up for issue #100 in 2 months. This issue (and last) has brought up a few questions: When did DD get married? How does she manage to find a matching bra and underwear? Does she buy all her underwear in black? How does she know its all black? Does she go into the store and ask for all black? How does she know the people in the store aren't fucking with her by giving her red and blue?

I haven't been to the store this week, but I'm planning on getting Wolvie Origins to finish that arc, Silver Surfer Requiem 2, X-Men 200.... and that might be it. I'm not getting WWHulk Frontline - I was not a fan of the Frontline series for Civil War.

I'm REALLY behind on my reading. REALLY, REALLY behind. :(

After double sized issue #50 where Matt gave Wilson Fisk a serious ass beating, they had a five issue story arc focusing on Echo ( Ronin from New Avengers). When Daredevil showed up in issue 56, a whole year had gone by where Matt had not played Daredevil at all. Instead he got married, grew a beard, etc. He met his wife in issue 40(?)when as Daredevil, he pushed her out of the way of a truck and being blind herself picked up on his voice and scent, so when she met him later as Matt Murdock, she realized right away who he was.

As for the undies question....braille mail order cotalogs. And she buys in bulk. She has to, as Matt likes to get rough and "rip" her clothes off when they do the panda. Fucking a blind chick would get me hot, too.

I was in Chicago for the week so i just got this weeks books today.

Silent War. Well, this certainly was a event-changing story crammed into the final issue of a six issue series. Maximus dupes Madusa into being his woman and takes over? Attilan is destroyed? Blackbolt regulated to the dungeons? The whole impetus for the story, the stolen terrigen crystals and the attack on the US is almost wrapped up as an afterthought. And I was a bit confused by the last page. Complete black? What are we to make of that? I also want to know where this fits into World War Hulk Continuity.

Teen Titans. An Amazon Attacks crossover. I'm not even really sure who is and isn't a Teen Titan anymore. This book just jumps from one crossover to the next.

Thunderbolts. Whoa. Venom biting the arm off Steel Spider? American Eagle beating Bullseye into parapalegia? Awesome. I think this book is moving up my list as one of the TOP FIVE books being put out every month.

Silver Surfer: Requiem. Didn't read it.

Immortal Iron Fist. Wrapping up the first story arc leaves one Iron Fist Dead and the other headed for some sort of mystical cage match. Also some groovy banter between Luke Cage, Misty Knight, and Colleen Wing.

I also picked up GIJoe Special Mission:Brazil. Ha ha! They fight Headman, the stupid drug dealer character. The backup story with Shipwreck and Covergirl was cute and touching. It almost made me like his character. Almost.

Next week, I get to buy everything I had on my pull list for the last three weeks, plus all of next weeks books. EGADS. If I'm under $100 I'll be surprised.

It did here, anyhow. Sometimes I think we're on a different schedule for the odd book here and there - Vynnie seemed to be getting ASM a week before us for the past few months.

I went and got my Wolvie Origins 15 today, so that's another book off my list.

na, thor #1 came out this week... the ASM schedule has been in a constant state of flux for the past couple of months, ever since the delay due to civil war. it seems that the release dates originally posted seem to change up to the date of actual release recently.

Here's what I got yesterday ( which is different from the $60 I spent on Tuesday)

Countdown 43. Bart Allen's funeral. Enough to make you go all weepy.

New Avengers Transformers. Excellent Tyler Kirkham art. And Stuart Moore, who wrote that cool stand alone issue of Wolverine a few months back, as well as the Punisher X-Mas book wrote it, so i have high hopes. The TF were hardly in it, but when they showed up, wowzers. Next issue is the inevitable hero fight.

Ant-Man. I never buy this, but it's a World War Hulk crossover. And I don't think I would normally ever get it anyway, but it did have a recap ant on the first page which I thought was hilarious, especially when it got interrupted by a bigger, greener Hulk recap ant. I like random funny stuff like that.

Fallen Son: Iron Man. *sniffle* Captain America's Funeral. Mark this day on your calendar, folks. 7/5/07 was they day they buried the Flash AND Captain America on the same day. The small "service" at the end was especially touching.

G.I.Joe First of all, cool fucking cover. EVERY JOE ever gets his face on the cover. Every one. All 236. Second, it kicks off WWIII. Insensitive titling aside, this storyline looks like its going to kick some serious ass and harken back to the big Cobra/Joe fights of yesteryear.

Loners. This issue focuses on Julie Powers from Power Pack.

New Warriors. Another solid issue. i would've liked to see more unraveling of the mystery of Night Thrasher, given the cliff hangery ending of the first issue, but still good. PS, anarky, Jubillee shows up towards the end of the issue, and she has a nice rack now. Oh, yeah, she's all woman...

Punisher. WHoa. That was one crazy bitch. "Let me beat my sister to death with a baseballl bat so we can fuck while we're both covered in her blood. Then I'll shoot myself while presumably YOU'RE STILL INSIDE ME, Frank." Thats just gross. Garth Ennis is fucked in the head.

Barracuda. Fucking hilarious conclusion. "It's okay, it's just my tits!" ( and then she's fingering the holes in the final page!!!) and Hemo's inevitable ending. Somehow I knew that was coming the entire series, but it was equally funny and sad when it happened.

All Star Superman. Another brilliant Morrison/Quitely offering. Supes reverse psychology to get the rocket built was great. AS Superman rules. AS Batman sucks.

Thor. Interesting first issue. Nothing much happens. Wait til Thor finds out Reed and Tony cloned him.

Transformers Spotlight: Galvatron. Hooray! Galvatron is finally his own character and not Magatron2.0!!! Thank you Simon Furman. Also Guido Guici does AWESOME TF art, and his name kicks ass. Get him on the regular book instead of EJ Su.

Ultimate Power. I just realized that it is essential for all female super heroes and villains to go into battle with their midriffs exposed. Delightful.

Uncanny X-Men. Salvador Larroca is such a great artist. Its a shame he doesnt get recognized more. And oh yeah, Brubaker is writing it so why the fuck arent you reading it.

And one final note. I read in ComicShopNews that they are doing away with Sensational Spidey and Friendly Neighborhood Spidey in order to make Amazing TRI-MONTHLY. What a fucking scam. It seems the success of certain weekly books over at DC have made Marvel want to try a little experiment of their own.
