I'll give it a chance. I've enjoyed the quasi-Golden Age productions in both the current Cap comics & movies & hope they attempt a similar feel for these stories.

I'll check it out with an open mind, simply because too many things I was prepared to mock, write off, or declare utter shit turned out to be good, even great.

I could argue that Batman, Superman, et al, were not intended as one-off novels. Watchmen was.

Many of the creators of the other books were quite fine with them being expanded upon by other creators. Even Siegel and Schuster only wanted a slice of the very large pie.

I wonder what Alan Moore makes of it. If he doesn't want it to happen, he hasn't been very vocal about that - either that or you gay fags haven't linked me to anything confirming he has been & doesn't want it. Shame on all of you if that's the case.

It makes it easier for me to boycott when they decide to carpet bomb the market when they do shit like this. One book wasn't good enough? They have to do SEVEN books all at the same time?! Fuck you and your cash grab DC. I'll read it when I find it in the quarter bins next year.

Watchmen sequels without Alan Moore will be like a Short Circuit without... whoever was responsible for Short Circuit. Sure, people will check it out. But it won't last long in the public consciousness, whereas the original is one of the defining moments of modern culture.

The real reason they didn't make a sequel to Moby-Dick: They were afraid pre-orders would drop by 50%, and they couldn't justify the cost of printing just 14 copies.
