"Dimension has provided us with the first details on Sin City: Recut & Extended which stars Bruce Willis, Clive Owen and Jessica Alba. This new cut of the movie will be available to own from the 13th December, and priced at around $39.99. The set will include both the 124 minute theatrical release, along with the 147 minute extended cut. Both will be presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with English DTS 5.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround tracks. Extras will include a commentary with director Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, a second commentary with Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino and a third commentary containing Austin Premiere crowd reaction! Also included will be a 15 minute film school with the director, a Movie in High-Speed Green Screen feature, 17 uninterupted minutes of Tarantino's segment, footage of a Sin City cast/crew party, and a 10 minute cooking school with Robert Rodriquez. Completing the package will be four featurettes on the cars, special effects make-up, costumes and props, a featurette on how they convinced Miller to assist with the film, another featurette on casting, a featurette on Tarantino the guest director, trailers, bloopers, and an interactive game. i would say "too bad" that i already bought the barebones version, but i already have "the hard goodbye" (which in MY day was just called "sin city") and i don't know if all that is worth an extra $20 - i mean, the commentaries are cool, but i gotta admit to not really watching too many movies i bought and thought "cool, director and actor commentaries..." - i'd say the only movies i've watched all the way through with commentary on are the kevin smith flicks. and the "tequila" scene in pee-wee's big adventure, to see what tim burton was thinking - the big revelation? - the scene starts and burton goes "so, paul. you basically came to the set with this all mapped out."

"yeah, i did."

and silence until the end of the scene!!!

DavisDVD.com had this to say in their news section for today:

It looks like Buena Vista has delayed the December 13th release of Robert Rodriguez's Sin City: Recut & Extended Edition and Roadracers. Both films have been removed from Buena Vista's press site and release calendar. No reason for this yet, but we'll let you know as soon as we hear anything. So until then, consider both to be postponed for now.

EDIT-Good news. Now it seems the set is not going to be delayed at all and will arrive on the December 13.

Bad enough those Kill Bill SE's never happened, thankfully that will not be happening with Sin City.

Well the extended version is out in stores. Anyone dropped the coin yet? I haven't (will wait until after Christmas) but it sadly the book must have been shrunk right down to DVD size. I was hoping the whole thing was going to come in a Graphic Novel sized box, not the other way around.

I ordered it, but it hasn't arrived. I'll finally get to see this friggin' movie. A good friend of mine who's totally not a comic book fan saw it when it came out and immediately bought the graphic novels. I can't wait, but it's from deepdiscountdvd.com, so it was dirt cheap, but they aren't known for getting things to you promptly.

Frank Miller was being interviewed on G4 about the Spirit. When Chris Gore asked him if there was any news about Sin City 2, Miller said that it is written.

Considering they were direct translations of the books, that sounds like a smartass answer.
