Thanks, Mabs! :D

Figure spoilers. A bit of a bitchy fucking nuisance, but nothing that I could really hope to avoid as I can't leave figures unopened for any length of time. Here's what I've pieced together or confirmed JUST BY OPENING FIGURES OR LOOKING AT PICTURES OF FIGURES:

Many characters, including numerous Jedi and politicians from Episodes 1 - 5 will appear in ROTS, including Tarkin, Darth Vader and Count Dooku.

3 - Yoda will lead the Wookie forces on Kashyyyk.
4 - Hasbro feels cannot improve the design of their Super Battle droid figure, the Saga one is perfect.
5 - Chewbacca is confident in his deoderant and/or the Wookies will win a significant battle on Kashyyyk.
6 - The Clonetroopers will fire laser guns in ROTS, and will switch their shoulder pauldrons from including the symbol of the republic to not including same.
7 - R2D2 will have a huge mechanical thing come out of his head.
8 - General Grievous' bodyguards will use their sticks like bostaffs.
9 - Grievous himself will unveil a second pair of arms/lightsabers during a pause in a battle.
10 - Mace Windu will get zapped by force lightning.
11 - Darth Vader will appear in ROTS.
12 - The Emperor will appear as such in ROTS and will fight with a lightsaber.
17 - Hasbro has perfected their design for the battle droid figure, and only the paint job has any room for improvment.
18 - C3PO will be dismembered yet again in ROTS.
19 - Padme will have gained some weight during the Clone Wars.
20 - Agen Kolar is another name for Eeth Koth, perhaps he had to enter the Jedi witness protection program like Adi Gallia.
26 - Yoda will perform a spinning attack in ROTS during a lightsaber battle.
27 - Obi Wan will kick something in ROTS.
28 - Anakin Skywalker won't get much sleep during the events of ROTS.
30 - Saesee Tiin's horn managed to grow back.
35 - The Emperor and Palpatine will be confirmed to be one and the same.
36 - Grievous' body will explode during ROTS.
39 - Polis Massans, a race known for their expertise in the field of medicine, will be tasked by Obi Wan to save the life of a friend.
50 - Anakin won't be looking too shit hot while he's on a planet called Mustafar in ROTS.

Throw this in with what we've seen from the trailers, and it really does come down to semantics, doesn't it? Here are the questions that I have:

1) Will the following characters be killed onscreen, and how will it happen/by who's hand? Might Anakin actually be shown killing Jedi onscreen????????

Padme, Dooku, Mace Windu, Grievous (obviously a yes), any other Jedi who's name is known and has a figure made of him/her.

2) What will the circumstances be that make Anakin finally "ripe" for Palpatine's move?

We've already seen him accepted onto the council but not given the rank of Master in the latest trailer (along with his indignant reaction to the news) and have seen Palpatine talking to him about the dark side and what it can offer.

3. Will they try to make it seem like Anakin had no choice in the matter, to somehow justify his fall to the dark side?

I will personally hate it if they do. For me to hate Vader in 4-6 as much as I need to, I need Ani to CHOOSE evil. I need to hate him and think him an evil fuck if Vader's "all time baddest bad guy" title is to be retained.

4) Will Padme's pregnancy be openly discussed and dealt with during ROTS? Will dealing with hiding the babies be a part of the movie?

By my count, she will have to have the babies while living for Leias comment about having an early memory of her mother to make any sense.

5) Will they explain the Jedi becoming part of the force in ROTS as has been promised by GLu?

I can't wait to find out - but please warn me if discussion of these points is going to provide any answers. I'd really rather not know!!! :D

Jesus JJ, for a guy who is "spoiler free" you know a fuck of a lot about a film you ain't seen

And that list of figure spoilers is fucking hilarious, the best piece of work you've hit lately

Couple minor details which won't ruin anything- the Polis Massa aren't any sort of medical guys as far as I've read, they're actually miners who just happen to know how to do some stuff (and as a tiny hint, they don't know SHIT about humans which uhhhhh complicates matters)

There will be lots of death onscreen, but I'd be surprised if it's much past the Tusken Massacre from AOTC if what I understand is correct, although a few principles will likely get a bit more depth

And as for the rest of your questions, I really want to keep this as "lite" as possible, so suffice it to say that there are elements pertaining to #5 and #4 in the film from what I have seen....

And as for #2 (what made Anakin ripe) I think that has less to do with Anakins arc and more to do with the overall Clone Wars, I think the glactic Iron was hot and the time to strike simply coincides with the movie, as it truly seems that a sort of ultimatum has been reached (and I don't know nearly everything, I'm guessing that there are a few factors as far as the Jedi and their manouvering that make the "time" all the more necessary)

Who is this Darth Vedder in the commercials? I guess he must be the new bad guy. Iam sure he will go out like a punk bitch when Annikan and Obiwan kill him off. I saw one of the toys where Annikan disguises himself as Darth vedder.

I won't to know what the stupid president guy is trying to do, pretending he can use a light saber. Mace Windu will kick his ass.

I'm thinking I have a better understanding of why Grievous is required (brutal name and all). I think that they'll task the Geonosians with creating the bio-enhancements for Ani based on their success with Grievous.

I had a real problem when I first saw Grievous and read that he was a cyborg. I thought it was a horrendous idea, so rehashed it would make SW look bad. Now I'm just going to have to wait and see.

for some reason the name "roach boy" (coined by whoever the fuck "maquis warrior" is at ssg) sticks in my head for GG, so I like to use it...
Roach Boy really made me worry when I first saw the designs, I though he was going in some sort of stupid "hellraiser" direction (Tion Meddon still gives me that impression too, a bit)
But if he's nothing but a CRAZY kick-ass deathmachine he might not be too bad- I am under the impression that he's not long for the film, either, I'm guessing he'll have less that 15 minutes of screentime, and be gone by two thirds of the way through

I'm just really looking forward to 21-B and the wookiees

Okay, after another viewing, we definitely aren't seeing Aayla and Ki-Adi being gunned down. Aayla is surrounded by yellow Clonetroopers, then we see a blue one firing. It's also daylight when we see Aayla, but the blue Clonetrooper is firing at night. The same problem with lighting is a giveaway that Ki-Adi appears to die via some clever editing as well.

However, if you check out the other trailers and spots on the official site, you can clearly see a very popular Jedi dying. It's in the "Jedi Action #2" TV spot, and it can be seen very, very briefly following a shot of Palpatine igniting his saber. I seriously doubt s/he lives past the scene in question.

how incredibly stupid that movie was, I want to see movies with happy endings. And how the hell can this be the lats one, since the ending, was so bad.

I can't believe Anikin became Darth Vadur. How stupid.

Well, as per AOTC, I was completely blown away by the first viewing. The first 100 pages of the novel deal with Ani getting rid of Dooku, I don't know how the fuck they squeezed all the rest of that shit in there.

There are so many topics to discuss with respect to ROTS, I honestly have no idea where to start - I think I'll make lists.

THINGS I REALLY LIKED

- ObiWan actually defeats Anakin on Mustafar (both legs? Are you KIDDING ME??????)
- the emotional response the "order 66" triggered within me (Fuck, I was an emotional wreck the whole time, it was all I could do to keep it together when the fucking Lucasfilm logo came up let alone watching Clones gun down Jedi in cold blood.... and Ani killing the kids? My God......)
- the dialogue, amazingly enough
- the complete and utter lack of any stupid comedy relief bits or segments (which is an absolutely HUGE thing for me, I can't think of anything bigger really)
- how FUCKING BAD Anakin got by the end there, Jesus.......
- all the lightsaber fights were amazing
- no requisite "space battle just for the sake of having a space battle" space battle
- and a million other things

THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE

There aren't many, let's put it that way. More later, once I've seen it a couple more times and can actually question some things. I didn't like Vader doing the Frankenstein-like "NOOOOOOO" with both hands raised (nit picky, I know, it was fine really). I thought Grievous' screen time was a lot less exciting than I figured he would be. He was different than I expected, but I'll get used to him.

THINGS I MIGHT NEED HELP UNDERSTANDING

What does Padme say right before she dies?

More about Qui Gon and the ability to avoid death, why he didn't "fade out", etc. Maybe the book will get me there.

And a million other things.

I'm very happy for now, but just going to the theatre had me close to tears, I kept thinking it was the last "first time" I'd see a new SW movie and stupid shit like that. To see it coming to an end tonight was really painful - almost like growing up over the course of a couple of hours or something.

ahh what is life without lists eh JJ??

I thought the film was a real solid piece man, I was so fucking stoked I thought I was gonna have a heart attack several times....

I actually like GG, the way he was kinda sneaky-looking and roachy and stuff, I thought he was gonna be all "super bad" but he was actually pretty good

One of my fave bits was MAce's exit, how after Palps kills his companions and gives him a hard time, Mace finally has him pinned, and for the first time Jacksons wooden reading came off perfect (can't recall the line but it was along the lines of "let's try this again")

I laughed a whole lot at the film, too, which I wasn't expecting- as you said JJ, I was really really glad that there were no Fart Jokes or anything (although the first several minutes were pretty damn goofy, it settled right quick) but the emotion was really well balanced throughout, funny and sad and really high-energy all over the place, fuck it made up for the last 2 films

pretty sure padme says "there's still good in him..." in that broken, "i have to start over again because i'm dying" type of talking.

things i did like:

everything above, plus

- palpatine's account of darth plagueus (plagueis?) the wise, which basically hints (but doesn't cram down your throat) that he was palpatine's master. the bit about "he could influence his power over midichlorians to create life..." was palpatine responsible for the divine conception???

- anakin's fall: completely plausible. not because he's a whiny kid, but because he's afraid of losing everything good in his life, so instead of embracing the good, he shuns it.

- yoda's last-minute thought that maybe the prophecy was mis-interpreted...

things i didn't like:

- what happened to syfo dyas? no info on how the clone army was created. i don't care too much, because in my mind it must've been either dooku or palpatine who commissioned the order. probably dooku, since jango was hired by a "man named tyrannus."

The Sifo Dias matter was explained nicely in the novel "Labyrinth of Evil". SD was actually a good Jedi friend of Dookus, Dooku wound up killing him as a test to become Sith. I believe it also offers a little more on who made the order and when (I think it really was SD, acting along with Dooku) but I can't remember the detail. Chux will though..........

I came away wanting to have sex with this movie. Really nice and my mouth was open as the scroll started. It just had not sunk in that I was finally seeing Episode 3. But now I have that day after Christmas depression setting in.

Oh ROTS, you certainly did fucking rock.

I must assume that, given the time of the post, Snigtad was joking. I probably shouldn't speak for Snigtad, at least under this screen name, but that's my guess.

What I am about to say is not a joke.

That movie blew goats! I'll post an in-depth review on SSG later. I want a written apology from George. Otherwise I will become peaches' apprentice as a Dark Lord of the Prequel Haters.
