I'm going to be like a certain couple of forumites elsewhere and just respond to any criticism of Hulk by saying it was an awesome movie and not putting forth any actual thought that might lead to an interesting (and civil) argument of the fact. :yeaha:

I don't begrudge you your Lucasite status with Ang Lee's Hulk, you can like whatever you like to like. Like, you know what I'm saying?

I don't think "Hulk" was a bad movie. I liked it enough to buy the DVD, at least. I think the strongest point of "Hulk" was its cast. Eric Bana, Jennifer Connelly, Sam Elliott? They were phenomenal. Now, while I think Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, and William Hurt are good actors in their own right, I will miss the original three. Same goes for Ray Stevenson as Frank Castle in "Punisher War Zone". Sure, maybe he'll do a decent job, but Thomas Jane was an awesome Punisher.

I loved the cast and director of The Hulk, it had a lot of potential in that regard...just got a bad script and badder CGI.

I thought that the CGI on the Hulk was pretty good. :shrugs:

For what it's worth, I think the CGI for 2003 Hulk looks better than 2008 Hulk. Watching the end of the new trailer felt like watching a cutscene from a video game.

I can argue most of those. I liked Daredevil (especially the extended cut). The Punisher is one of my favorite Marvel flicks, despite Travolta. The FF movies were fun and didn't take themselves too seriously, just as it should have been (Doom and Galactus were the biggest downsides in the movies). Elektra was pure shit though.

Brokeback Mountain was a pile of shit. One of the most overrated movies ever. And its not a gay issue - the movie was flat-out boring.

Agreed. I never understood why people bitched about it. The only bad CGI was the Superbowl trailer, which was unfinished.

I liked the X-Men movies (even 3 a little bit), the Spidey movies (even 3 a little bit), the FF movies, I love Punisher (Tom Jane is a bad ass), I liked The Hulk. I hated Elektra and Ghost Rider was possibly the worst movie I've ever paid money to see.

The Hulk teaser is up at Marvel, here's a link because I didn't see one in this thread:

To be honest, I was thinking things might not be too bad... until I saw the Hulk himself. Iron Man looks much better, methinks.

I don't want to mention this there, since there are a couple of people with so little tact they'd start attacking her in absentia, and I'd rather not get pissed at little douchebags insulting my wife, but Mrs A saw her first of this last night before Speed Racer.

She normally doesn't swear, but doesn't have a problem with it. Her exact comment: "That is fucking retarded. It's going to be a total pile of shit." She then added, "Sorry, but Eric Bana is hot, and Ed Norton is not."

no, no, Iron Man. Sorry Chux, never had any interest in that cartoon. I've never even seen any portion of any episode. I really don't like japanese cartoons/stories...they just bore me for whatever reason. But that just means more speedracer for you my dear ;)

Neither did my wife, and she loved it as much as I did.

I saw a new commercial last night; this one showed the abomination (I refuse to use capital letters, since this thing is an abomination, not The Abomination) talking.

Really, all of my preconceived notions about this movie aside, this really and truly looks horrible. The sequence looks like a cut scene from a video game in the worst possible way, and the animation is downright bad. Another thing that's bothered me, but I've never been able to put my finger on it until Mrs A spelled it out: J-Con has a "girl next door" sort of hotness. Liv Tyler is definitely not "girl next door," but looks exotic. They seem to have tried to make Liv appear "girl next door," which doesn't work, and which effectively negates her exotic look. She's not ugly, but she's not J-Con hot, nor is she her usual level of Liv Tyler hot.

If I were Marvel, I think I'd not show any ads or trailers. I'm serious. Word of mouth and character recognition are more than enough to carry this. I can guarantee you there are a lot of people who would've seen this who caught a trailer and changed their minds.

Then again, some people apparently didn't think the Transformers special effects were just a bunch of poorly-rendered random mechanical pieces animated too quickly to see how poorly they were done.

The sad thing is, even though this looks like one of the biggest pieces of shit to ever be thrown at a screen, I have no doubt it will do better than Speed Racer. In its first week.
