I doubt that "Harry Potter and the Unexciting Exposition" will come in first. I really wonder how they're going to deal with all the Voldemort-childhood flashbacks.

It has a strong chance, considering the fact that people who haven't read the book will go to see

Dude, that'll make, like, fifty bucks. The first one didn't even break even at the box office. General audiences (not including comic fans or Guillermo del Toro groupies) don't give a shit about Hellboy. Besides, "The Dark Knight" comes out the week after this one, so this one will plummet in its second week.

not in the domestic area, but world-wide it raked in just under $100 mil. that more than made up the difference.

i don't know about that, most people i know were excited about the first one. they need to get the word out on the second one more.

that's what has got me the most worried for this installment. kinda sucks. but we shall see. maybe a lot of people will go for double-features?

So far...
1 Iron Man - $314,905,000
2 The Dark Knight - $314,245,000 (in 10 freakin' days!)
3 Indiana Jones IV - $313,626,000
4 Kung Fu Panda - $208,972,000
5 Hancock - $206,371,000
6 Wall-E - $195,235,000
7 Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who! - $154,354,622
8 Sex and the City - $150,854,000
9 The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - $139,745,459
10 The Incredible Hulk - $132,543,000
23 Hellboy II: The Golden Army - $65,894,000
37 Speed Racer - $43,819,290
Iron Man and Indy are still making a few bucks, so it'll be a close one for a few more weeks, but Bats has the year won already.

I don't think Harry Potter will be able to touch "The Dark Knight" this year. I might have said differently a few weeks ago, but over $300 million in ten days is pretty damn impressive.
Furthermore, I'm sure the massive box office return for "The Dark Knight" has made WB forget all about "Speed Racer" flopping.

Both Harry Potter and Star Trek got bumped until next year. I suppose we'll have another list ready in a few weeks.
