I think I'll go if a group is going, but I haven't even been watching the show for the past, oh let's say 10 fucking years. I'm guessing it's going to be pretty funny.

The one thing in the trailer that did make me chuckle was the line about the four states surrounding Springfield "Nevada, Vermont, Montana, and Kentucky" or something like that.

The show's been on life support for longer than most successful shows are on the air. I think Homerpalooza was the last really funny episode that I can think of (and I loathed it the first five or six times I saw it--then that stupid Rover Hendrix joke finally saved it for me).

What's especially funny is that, for the past three or four years, they've been ripping off Family Guy's style, with random pop culture references that simply don't work in The Simpsons... and yet they take every chance they can to accuse Family Guy of ripping them off.

I doubt the movie will even be watchable. Looking forward to the return of Futurama, though. That seems to be where all of Groening's effort went during its time on the air, and I suspect he's handing in shit episodes of Simpsons to spite Fox for cancelling it.

I've been watching Futurama on Adult Swim lately and off and on for the past year - fuck, is that show funny. It's so much better than Simpsons has been recently. Apparently they're going to release four DVD movies, and then cut them up, add new stuff, and make them into episodes (like the Family Guy movie, I guess).

I saw a preview for the Simpsons movie yesterday . . . dunno, it certainly looks better than any of the shit from the TV show in the last decade. I might see it, but I'm also not "excited" for it.

I saw the preview today when watching FF2. It looks ok, but no way in hell would I pay to see it in theatres.

Well, I was wrong. I am going to see it on Friday more than likely as no other damn movies are playing that look any good and the kids want to see it too.

The wife and I have already agreed that it will be nothing more than a rental. Like most people, we liked the Simpsons when it was funny. You know, back in '98.

Worth a peep into it. Funny stuff, old school at points and some real funny parts. Wont give any spoilers until some more people request or post out the movie.

Yeah I broke down and saw it also, as there was nothing else worth going to. Pretty funny. Especially the edgier "movie" humor. I was laughing my ass off when Homer was giving everyone the dual middle fingers.
