For me, all the hype built it up too much, and when I finally saw it, I felt like I'd already seen it a million times because they showed damn near everything on the commercials. Oh well.

Definitely go back and check out the Ali G show. The man is on the verge of getting his ass beat so many times and STILL doesn't break character. Genius.

Eh, I just saw it. It wasn't horrible, but it was a far cry from "good." I laughed my ass off twice (pretty much the entire rodeo sequence, and the kids coming to get ice cream and seeing the bear). That's about all the laughing I did, though some bits had potential had they either been fleshed out more or not gone as far. (There really was a problem with nailing things on the head--everything overshot or undershot.) Even with libel lawsuits and shit, you won't convince me that everything wasn't totally put on. Especially the TV station in Jackson, MS (even though according to the map and plot it's supposed to be somewhere in southern VA or northern NC).

Better than Transformers, but just another in a long list of forgettable comedies I've seen in my life. This probably ranks around Father's Day.

The tv station bit was real. People that were fooled and booked him on the show got fired over it.
The Pam Anderson thing was obviously bogus though.

Even if it was real, it certainly ain't between Washington, DC, and South Carolina. Unless there are a few new cities in Virginia and North Carolina called "Yazoo City" and "Jackson."

Minor quibble, but it really pulled me out of the movie, and it was something that so easily could've been fixed.

Was the naked fight in the hotel room real also? How did you not think tat was funny Anarky? I was nearly peeing myself when the fat guy yelled eat my ass.

I'd seen the naked fight already, at Comic-Con. Had I not, it would've been funny. As it was, I could only remember how incredibly shocked that they showed it to a room full of a few thousand people (between preview info for Eragon and Transformers), a large portion of whom were kids, with no warning about possibly offensive content at all.

I mean, I'm not a prude, but you don't put a sex scene in a Bugs Bunny cartoon, either. Unless it's on Drawn Together.

BTW, they edited it since July '05, as the footage I saw showed them running naked through the lobby and out onto the street, I'm guessing before they went into the mortgage luncheon thingy.
