Some of those later toys sucked. And I had no idea they made some of the other toys like the kid, Quintessons, or the Sharkacons.

The Sharkticon was released in 1986 with the movie figures, under the name Gnaw. The Quints are from a third party. I think this particular Wheelie is a nontransforming PVC figure, which is FAR more accurate than the POS toy Hasbro made in '86.

Kup kind of sucked in robot mode. I don't remember seeing the actual toy.

MASTERPIECE GRIMLOCK

Somehow a bear is involved because he's made it all better.

Y'know how they say you should contact a doctor if you have an erection for more than four hours?

I'm gonna be calling in about four hours.

I'd heard rumors--even strong rumors--but confirmation is fucking sweet.

I just hope it's classic Grimlock and not asshole moderator Grimlock.

In my world, I will justify spending $300 so I can have one in Robot mode and one in Dinosaur mode.

Sweet jesus.

Looks like he's based on the cartoon version, which isn't 100% ideal, but it's Japanese, so it's expected. At least, being cartoony, he'll have the tray of nachos.

it actually looks like it's more based on the original TOY than anything else.

Hey- just what would have been ideal as a "base" for it??
I can't think of anything post-G1 that would make real sense

This is in no way a complaint because I think it looks awesome, but is his dino head really just gonna flip over and hang on his back like the original? I would've thought doubling the size and adding about a bajillion points of articulation, they could make that less noticable.

it'll probably transform a bunch to look like something else back there I'd figure, it doesn't look nearly as hollow as the original did in that there tiny pic

i'd presume that it actually ends up in side the chest cavity. similar to how the wheel wells flipped around and became the side silver stripes on prime, they could hide it somehow that way.

Very close, but Grimlock was one of the few whose animated version looked like it transformed exactly the same way as the toy. The main difference is in the shape of the head, which was more streamlined in the animated version.

I'd like to see IDW Grimlock as a figure of some sort, but doubt it'd ever happen.
