Marvel wants to meet with Vin Diesel. It may be premature to mention it here because a meeting doesn't mean jack shit unless he eventually gets a role.

But fuck premature. I like to speculate.
Someone mentioned doing voice work as Groot. I don't know why you'd cast The Iron Giant to basically say the same three words over and over.
A more plausible idea is him playing Thanos. Again, think IG's gravelly voice as the Mad Titan. That would work.
Then of course there was the litany of Marvel characters like Iron Fist, Namor, Luke Cage, Doc Strange, etc, but those mostly feel wrong to me. Vin could pull off Namor's arrogance I suppose.

I knew you guys were all fairies, but talking about premature butt fucking kinda clinches it.

When's your super ten man circle jerk gay wedding where you all stand in a circle and say your vows as you toss salad?

If you stop and realize its an original story by Whedon and not an adaptation of Bendis' underwhelming Maxiseries, you'll be okay.

Probably also answers the question of what Vin Diesel will be doing. Ultron. Or maybe Vision.

Somebody posted pics of Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and perhaps Ultron(or rather whatever pre-CGI mocap Ultron is).

I'm digging Q's uniform. And I like they gave him silver hair. Not sure about the neckbeard stubble though.
Wanda's costume is a tad on the meh side, but not offensive at all.

I like that 3/4ths of "Cap's Kooky Quartet" have a scene together. This pleases me. Too bad Cap ain't there. (unless they're adding him digitally later on. They can do anything they want nowadays.)

I like Scarlet Witch here. She looks realistic.

Quicksilver looks a lot better here than he does in Days of Future Past.

You could almost say he looks...
*puts on sunglasses*
...kick-ass.
*YEEEEEEAAAAAH*

I'm not starting an Ant-Man topic just for this.

After Marvel accommodating Edgar Wright for EIGHT YEARS in his lackadaisical effort to maybe at some point muster a fuck to make Ant-Man, he's left the film for "creative differences". What a fucking schmuck. I know there's lots of fanboys out there who love the taste of Wright's dick in their mouths, but he's a marginal director at best. I'll bet he wanted to back burner the movie for another five years while he made a couple more underwhelming films and Marvel was like "You've had a decade to work on this. We have a release date that we snaked from DCs big fucking tentpole Dawn of Justice movie. No you can't wait anymore, you lazy limey fuckface."

I wonder what the actual reason for him dropping could be. You'd think their "creative differences" would have been worked out at some point in those last eight years, for cryin' out loud. I doubt that they have much time to rewrite his script if they still want it released next year so it'll probably largely be as it was before he left. Crazy shit.

Massive rewrites is the rumor why Wright dropped out.

Drew Goddard also dropped out of the Daredevil Netflix series.

It sucks that Marvel appears to be hard to work with. As much as I love the Marvel films, they all have the pretty much the same flavor, which is why Marvel seems to have a "if it ain't broke..." attitude. It would be great to see some of these films from a different perspective.

Losing Wright and Goddard this isn't the first time Marvel has lost a director.
Thor: The Dark World lost director Patty Jenkins pretty late into pre-production.
John Favreau walked away from directing Iron Man 3, even though he's stayed on as an actor and producer.

"You can do whatever you want, as long as you don't do this, or that, or this, and don't do that... that? Ok. No wait, we can't do that."

That's why folks leave.

how is that different than any other movie studio? the saving grace is that the people saying that actually care about the direction of the films as a whole and the characters within them.

I was listening to a podcast today and someone said: "They need Marvel more than Marvel needs them."
Sad, but true...for now.
One of these days this Marvel formula is going to peter out or bomb unless they inject some new visionaries in there to keep it fresh.

Marvel has announced Charlie Cox will star as Daredevil on the Netflix show.
He's best known for Stardust and Boardwalk Empire.

I've never seen Stardust and I don't really remember his from Boardwalk Empire.

Wha...?

First up, Stardust is an excellent film. You should see it.

Second, how far did you get in Boardwalk Empire? He's pretty tough to forget. He's Owen (Ewan?), the Irish revolutionary who comes into Nucky's employee as his bodyguard and fucks Maggie. I won't spell out how his arc has progressed since that point.

Ah, that guy. Ok, yeah. Awesome.
It's been a little while since I watched season 2 and I haven't started season 3 yet (for shame, I know).

The season 3 finale saddened and pissed me off, but not quite so badly when I learned the whole damned show was ending so it wasn't like, um, the new state of things would last long.

Truth be told, the fucking official Facebook page spoiling the huge-ass motherfucking doozy spoiler less than 12 hours after the initial airing pissed me off more. They need to keep in mind people don't or can't always see shit live and watch that Funny or Die video about acceptable spoilers.

The way season 3 ends, though, I have no fucking clue how they expect to wrap this up in a single season.

But, yeah, Charlie Cox is kinda awesome. He should be a better Daredevil than Affleck. (And Matthew Fox would be a better Batman than Affleck if DC had their shit together.)
