Loving the double post Grimy? Good. Bitch.

Found a new store today (!!!) which almost always nets a purchase it seems. Found a good few IDW Gi Joe back issues for cover price, but I only got Cobra II (3/4 issues anyhow), a Cobra special, and Origins 2-4 & 10 (a Snake Eyes cover, so I can hope). I also grabbed up a couple of new comics that I had missed: Battle Scars 3, PunMax 21, Thor 9, FI Fearless 5 & 7.

I read Cobra II issue 1, and it is just amazing - no wonder they saw fit to keep that running.

Small week. 8 books.

All Star Western 5. Havent read it yet. Come to think, haven't read any of my ASW yet.

Cap and Bucky 626. Cap fights some androids or robots or something.

FF 14. Val, Dr. Doom, and the FF buy Earth's Heroes a crucial 28 minutes so that the future lines up like Grandpa Nathaniel expects it to. And Juan Bobillo's art is horrendous. What the hell happened to him?

Fantastic Four 602. This book is...I can't explain the epic awesomeness of Hickman's run. And now...Galactus vs. Celestials.

Game of Thrones 5. Nymeria attacks Geoffrey at the river. Lady gets killed. Petyr Littlefinger is introduced. And lord, how we will all come to hate HIM.

Thor 10. Tanarus fights Heimdall. Norrin activates Thors hammer which leads to a very cool splash page. "I. Am. THOR." Very cool.

Transformers: Robots In Disguise 1. Henceforth known as RID. My shop only got ONE copy in so I had to have the Bumblebee cover. Would've preferred Ironhide. Or Wheeljack. Or Prowl. Basically the least desired cover was the only one they had.

X-Men Legacy 261. Chris Gage starts as writer. Exodus attacks the Killbox! Logan and Rogue convince him that Scott Summers should be attacked instead. You stay classy, Logan. You asshat.

12 books this week. I had 10, so I picked up a couple things I don't normally collect to see what's happening. I also bought a dozen books out of the 50 cent bin. Mostly old Action Comics and Annuals.

Amazing Spider-Man 679. Spidey stops the world from ending! And has coffee with MJ. Awww...I'm rooting for those kids to maybe get into a relationship. Maybe get married.

Avengers Academy 25. Everybody beats Hybrid.

Generation Hope 15. One of the two extra books I picked up. Hope and her team bring home the brainwashed Sebastian Shaw she found, not knowing who he is. Scott flips out. Pretty good issue.

GIJoe ARAH 175. The Ninjas and Cobra Commander both continue the hunt for Billy's killers.

GIJoe 10. Cobra blows up a bunch of UN Peacekeepers and continues its plan to completely annihilate the country it took over. Mainframe hits on Scarlett.

Punisher 8. The Exchange tries to set up Frank and snare Rachel Cole instead. The folders on the Perp's computer Frank is using cracked me up. 'Superheroine Upskirts'

Transformers: Infestation 1. I have no idea what the Infestation2 event is about. Something vaguely "Lovecraftian". Anyway, this book seems to be a semi sequel to the TF: Evolutions mini series that took place in the 1880s.

Venom 13. The other extra book I picked up. A book featuring Venom, Red Hulk, X-23, and the new female Ghost Rider written by Remender has all the potential of being atrocious. But this was fairly packed with story as Blackheart tries to open a portal to hell using a Symbiote, a vial of X-23s blood, and the Power of the Ghost Rider.

Villains For Hire 3. Misty Knight reveals she's teamed up with Pippet Master to get revenge on Purple Man, so the entire thing comes full circle back to Heroes For Hire #1. Nice symmetry.

Winter Soldier 1. The not so dead after all Bucky Barnes secretly goes after the hidden Winter Soldiers sleeper agents living in America for decades.

X-Factor 231. Madrox continues jumping dimensions. Kinda like a mini Exiles/What If story. The Captain America Deathlok was cool. As was Dormammu, Sorceror Supreme.

Uncanny X-Men 550 6. The X-Men fight my childhood superhero creation.

Off-topic, but I can't help but wonder what happened to their "Transformers Elseworlds" series of miniseries they were planning, that only resulted in one miniseries. I thought it was fairly successful.

Got in the mail from Amazon Classic Transformers Vol. 2 and whatever the latest volume of GIJoe: Cobra Civil War is. (Seriously, the numbering and sequence on these is fucking confusing.) I really wish Amazon were more consistent with packing; sometimes books are shrinkwrapped to cardboard and stuck in a box with a shit-ton of bubbles. Both of these were simply stuck in padded envelopes and sent UPS (AKA "We make every effort to fuck your package up"). Both were a bit jacked-up, but not so badly that I'm going to demand a refund; I am letting them know that their packaging sucks ass, though.

Haven't read any of them yet.

From the library over the past week I got:
Wilson (haven't read, but it's Daniel Clowes, so I expect good things)
Bone: Tall Tales (a reprinting of Stupid, Stupid Rat Tails along with a few new stories--it's fun, but not especially necessary to the Bone saga)
Bone: Quest for the Spark Vol. 1 (halfway done and not a comic, but it seems to be a better sequel to Bone than Tall Tales, which, like I said, is just inconsequential tangents--QFTS isn't nearly on par with Bone itself, but what is?)
Age of Reptiles Omnibus (Truthfully, slightly disappointing. It got so much praise, but didn't live up to it. The art is gorgeous, the storytelling is strong--it's a technically excellent comic book. Only the stories are simplistic and tough to follow at times. Worth reading, but don't expect it to live up to the hype. Of course, it lives up to its hype far better than Kingdom Come did. But what doesn't?)

Somehow I ended up with 16 books this week. I'm not complaining, because they were mostly good. Even the Remender book didn't suck. It's just, I had like 8-10 books on my list and wound up with twice that.

Atomic Robo and the Ghost of Station X 5. Another Bestest Most Awesome Issue Ever. Which I don't need to tell you about because you should've already read it yourself several times. And if you don't read it, you'll spend an eternity in Hell getting the skin shredded off your manhood with a cheese grater, before dipping it skinless in Tabasco and being fellated by an ugly woman with barbwire teeth. For all eternity. Like you deserve.

Battle Scars 4. Deadpool saves Marcus from the Serpent Society, and then Dad..er..I mean Nick Fury shows up.

Black Panther 529. Final Issue. T'Challah stops Wilson Fisk from taking over Wakanda and decides he's had enough 'thinking time' in Hell's Kitchen. Thus it being the final issue.

Captain America 8. Wow. You know what I just thought as I was typing that? You know how many 8th issues Cap has had? A lot. This is like his seventh one.

Carnage USA 3. Cletus Kasady is a sick puppy. He's making people pull their own teeth out for kicks. And he makes a woman kill her own husband or he'll make he eat her own babies. But it's all good, because Captain America called in Protocol 4563. Which is fancy talk for VENOM.

Danger Girl 1. Nostalgia got the best of me as IDW brought back Campbell's cheesecake spy girls. It was a guilty pleasure, like eating a Monte Cristo. You enjoy it, but then you remember why you don't do it regularly.

Snake-Eyes 10. Stormshadow makes things personal and sends his Red Ninjas after SE in the middle of Cobra's invasion. I got the cover I wanted least because it was the only issue they had. The Wikins cover is nice, but the Atkins cover is badass. And Alex Cal's interior work is fantastic.

Incredible Hulk 5. Doctor Doom performs a lobotomy on Hulk with an adamantium chainsaw(at Hulks request) and a Gamma monkey throws its Gamma feces at Hulk. Yes. That is not a typo.

New Mutants 37. Magma goes on a date with an emo Mephisto. Part of me thought it was a fun, quirky little issue. And part of me was like "Quit making all your villains sympathetic little emo bitches, Marvel!"

PunisherMAX 22. I didn't like this issue because I feel like Garth Ennis should've been the one to tell this story. And Jason Aaron and Axel Alonsp should've known that too. FINAL ISSUE.

Scarlet Spider 2. Kaine fights new villain, The Salamander, and becomes Houston's reluctant new Super Hero.

Journey into Mystery 634. Loki teams up with Daimon Hellstrom to figure out what shenanigans Nightmare is up to. I think this book has moved to the top of the list. Best Marvel Comic being written. Please, check it out.

Venom 13.1 The mismatched team goes up against Blackheart and his minions in a Hellish Las Vegas.

X-Club 2. Dr. Nemesis and the other X-clubbers try to figure out why Danger is acting wonky.

WaX-Men 5. The absurdities at Logan's new school continue as Beast leads the students to fight microbial Brood attacking Kitty Pryde. Logan and Quentin go into space for funding after the Hellfire Club kids have Angel declared mentally incompetent and take over Worthington Industries. Aaron redeems himself for PunMax, because this book is delightfully madcap and unserious for an X-Book.

WaX-Men: AlphaOmega 2. Quentin and Logan continue to square off inside Quentin's mind.

Saw American Vampire Vol. 1 in my Gold Box, so I just ordered that. Should have it in a few days, and I've been really looking forward to reading it. I like vampires when they're real vampires, but almost everything since Interview With the Vampire was written has been about whiny emo pussies who are sad they're undead. Or utter shit. Even if he fucked up The Dark Tower, I have enough faith in Stephen King based entirely on how amazing 'Salem's Lot was. (And, yes, there's an apostrophe there. Most people leave it out. They are all dummies.)

I haven't read it, but Scott Snyder was writing Detective Comics before the Reboot. And his writing was the balls.

Last week:
Batgirl #6 - Babs battles a mind-controlled Bruce and defeats the new villainess.
Batman And Robin #6 - Robin didn't really turn against Batman (sarcastic shocker!), but he does get his ass whooped and Batman can't get to him in time to prevent it.
Bionic Man #6 - Haven't read yet, since I didn't realize I missed issue 5.
A Game of Thrones #5 - Haven't read yet.
Punisher Max #22 - Jason Aaron, you dirty mother fucker. I had no idea this was the final issue, as I generally don't look ahead at the solicits anymore.

This week:
Batman #6 - Batman somehow has the energy to beat the shit out of Talon and escape the Court of Owls, which only sets up this summer's big Bat crossover.
Bionic Man #5 - Newly bionic Steve goes out on his first mission and encounters another bionic man.
Catwoman #6 - Arrested for stealing a ton of cash from some dirty cops, Catwoman gets the shit kicked out of her again by hired super muscle, until a straight cop lets her escape.
Daredevil #9 - DD faces the Mole Man.

16 books this week.

Amazing Spidey 679.1 Peter and Uatu Jackson try to figure out who the mysterious Sixth scientist at Horizon is. It's Morbius. He attacks.

Avenging Spidey 4. Spidey and Hawkeye team up and go on patrol to fight Sidewinder. Because Hawkeye is gonna be in a movie and needs some exposure. But, the "Hawkeye Recap" on page 1 was pretty funny.

Avengers 22. Cap, Iron Man, Red Hulk, etc are all tortured by Osborn's agents of HAMMER. This takes up the entire issue.

New Avengers 21. The N'Avs fight the Thor Clone. They win, but come across as mean douches in the media, so score another round for Osborn.

Secret Avengers 21.1 A point one issue. Cap condescendingly sets Hawkeye up to see if he's capable of leading the Secret Avengers. Apparently forgetting Hawk led the WCA, The Thunderbolts, the GLA, etc etc. It was written by Remender, so that explains the gross mischaracterizations.

Daredevil 9. DD fights MoleMa--oh crap, Diabolical gave it away.

Formic Wars: Silent Strike 3. The strike team infiltrates the Formic Mothership and destroy it from the inside. One team member heroically sacrifices himself.

Iron Man 513. IM teams up with China's super team to stop an army of Dreadnaughts from blowing up the biggest dam in China. Rhodey arrests Tony afterwards. Mandarin and Stane gather ALL of IMs rogues together for Phase Two. Seriously. ALL of them. Even Vibro got an invite.

Thunderbolts 170. The TBolts fight Merlin, Arthur, Black Knight, and escape back to the future...to come up against the original Thunderbolts.

TF:MTMTE 2. This book is hilarious. I can only describe it as the Giffen/DeMatties Justice League, except Transformers. "We're taking the 'Con Suffix back!" and "It's your eyebrows! He's jealous of your capacity for self-expression!"

Infestation: TF 2. 19th Century Optimus fights a giant underwater Lovecraftian Squid. Meh.

Venom 13.2 Circle of Four continues.

Winter Soldier 2. Bucky and Widow fight a Gorilla with an M-60. The Red Ghost buys a used Doombot on the black market.

Wolverine 301. Wolverine visits Japan. Which means his adopted daughter gets immersed in a Yakuza/Hand power struggle. Like always.

X-Factor 232. Madrox fights an alternate dimension Dormammu, then finally gets shunted back to his own reality. And accidentally brings a bunch of alternate reality villains with him.

Uncanny X-Men 551 7. The two 'Apex' aliens clash. The X-Men don't do much.
