This is the one I got. http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=3367-1

I was looking on craigslist earlier and found a different space shuttle, but they want $250 (obo) for it.

Yikes. The one we had looked at could be set in a launch configuration with a delivery rocket - it was about $110 new I believe. I'll try to find it....

I think it was this guy:

yeah, that's 10213. it's $100 in the states, and still readily available via amazon. it's an awesome set, really huge. the largest i've ever owned, easily, at 1204 pieces.

My Galaxy Explorer arrived today! The Good News is that the "discoloration" on many of the pieces is just caked on dust and grime on at least 90% of the 'discolored' bricks. Nothing a good scrubbing with a toothbrush and some Dawn won't clear right up. I put it together dirty though because I wanted to make sure all the pieces were there like the guy advertised. Sadly, they weren't but the missing pieces are negligible. The two antennae on the top of the craft weren't there. I believe this is because even though the guy showed a picture of all the pieces in a ziploc bag, he sent everything to me loose in a small cardboard box. And not all the ends were taped securely. I am suprised more pieces aren't missing. And ultimately, the antennae are cosmetic and not that big of a deal. Those would be the two pieces most likely to be flying off the ship at the slightest touch anyway, so them missing is kind of a blessing in a way. Besides the antennae, a couple of the blue "stairs" for the mini-command center weren't in there. Also one of the "computer" bricks is the wrong piece. He sent me an "inverted" computer. Which I don't care about as I have several extras of every computer brick in just about every color. The last thing I can't figure out though, is I had several pieces left over and I couldn't figure where they went. There were 2 grey 2x2 plates, and four white 2x2 plates. now eventually I figured out the grey ones were to clasp the two large baseplates together(the baseplates that it didn't come with). But the four white bricks I can't figure out. I even went into peeron and looked at the inventory list, and sure enough they are on there. But they never show up in the instructions. I guessing that they all snap together to make a generic "supplies" crate or something. Am I missing something? Oh, and three of the four Minifigs look great. The two red and one of the white have great paint and the gold is still on their chests and everything. the other white guy has some serious "beige" issues on his arms, helmet, and t-crotch. Somebody's getting janitor duty is all I'm saying.

Overall, I am happy, estactic, and satisfied at long last that my hunt for this elusive set is finished. I think my next major space conquest is going to be the Monorail. And knowing that it'll probably be $200 easy to find a complete one I'm not in any rush to start.

Last week I won a 7686 Helicoptor Transport off ebay. Its an orange flatbed semi that comes with a matching coptor. It arrived last night at the same time as my Galaxy Explorer, so natch I wasn't excited to open it as I was the vintage stuff. So, I got around to opening it..and the guy sent me the wrong set! It was a 7641 City Corner set with the Pizza joint, busstop, bus, etc. Of which I already have one. So I'm like WTF and email the guy to get it fixed, thinking I was gonna have to go through the headache of shipping it back and dealing with getting a refund etc. But the guy was all "Holy shit! My bad! I'll send you the right set and keep the other one no charge." Damn. Its like a $50 set. I'm gonna wait until I get the other set just to be sure, but since I already have one, I might build different shops with the second one. Like a little comic book store instead of the bike repair shop. And a second bus will always look cool in Tomassiville.

The kids' summer vacation started last week so we decided to break out the LEGO Train set I've had since last Christmas but never opened.
Holy crap! Lego Trains are awesome and fun and awesome and now I want many more miles of track and switching tracks and more trains and more tracks. And more trains.
The only drawback is that you need A LOT of space to lay the track down. We only had the track that came with the train and the small amount that came with the train stations I have and it was already a 6x3 ft oval. Not exactly something you can just leave laying about. Add in a few assorted town buildings (we didn't even build all that I have) and it gets even more expansive.
But that's a minor quibble seeing as how much fun it was.

I bought a train set a few years back. I'm not sure of the number but it was white and blue. I also have a train station from waaaaay back in the day. It's the yellow two story one that I believe was re-released in red. The yellow one looks much better, IMO.

I got that Yellow Station on Ebay a few months ago and yeah, its pretty sweet. I have the red one also, and thats even older. It goes with the 9volt old tracks and its a different design with not as many bricks. The newest station is the more modern looking set with all the stairs and the walkway over the tracks. Which is cool , but I still like the Yellow oldschool version better. I'd like to find that older white train, but thems get pretty expensive on ebay .

My goal when I was really into LEGO's was to try and find the Metroliner for the Yellow Station since it was pictured on the box with it. I remember being kinda upset that the train or at least some tracks didn't come with it.

LEGO Shop@Home has a free shipping + free kingdoms 'Target Practice' polybag set on orders over $75 this week. i'm using father's day money to get the Master Builder Academy subscription and adding $5.01 worth of 'Pick-a-Brick' pieces to achieve the $75 minimum.

TRU has another BOGO sale this week. Yesterday, after I bought comics, but before I went to TF3 I went in to see what they had. I ended up getting the ToyStory Garbage Truck set, and the 3in1 Creator Lighthouse. The TS set was marked at $42 and the Lighthouse was $39.99 so I got that one for $20. But then the system knocked 25% off the TS set so I ended up getting it for $32 instead. But AFTER it had registered as the higher of the two sets, allowing me to get the Lighthouse for cheaper. So yay. I got the Garbage Truck because it llok like it would kinda fit in with the Lego City stuff (it's a might larger in scale but not too bad). And the lighthouse just looks sweet.

I'll probably go back either tomorrow or Saturday and get a couple BIG ticket items, but I can't decide which two of these four I should get.
The Public Transport set $99.99 (which has a bus, a tram, a car, a streetweeper, and a bus/tram station with a little convenience store).
the Police Station $109.99 (a massive three story police and jail set with two cars),
the new Harbor shipping set $89.99 (with a ship, a truck, and dock area with a crane, and a little dock to fish off of)
and finally the new Rocket Launch pad $69.99 (with a three stage rocket, a launch pad, a little control center and some transpo carts.)

The most expensive combo would be $170 (w/tax) for the Transport and Police. Save $40. Those are also the two oldest sets and will probably be "retired" before the other two which just came out and will presumably be around longer.

The Harbor/Rocket combo is the cheapest. Probably $130 with tax. Save $30.

Hmmm what to do. What to do.

TRU is having yet another BOGO sale!

I got the Bus Terminal and the Police Station last time. So I'm gonna get the Rocket and the Harbor this time around. I would really REALLY like to get TWO of those Cargo Train sets. But the fuckers are $170 EACH.

We bought the Lego rig for one of our daughters her upcoming birthday. We got the lighthouse as well. Even though one of them wasn't technically part of the BOGO sale, they gave it to my wife anyway. I think the lighthouse is for my wife.

Also, Target had their mini-figures on clearance for $1.48. We bought 6. We got the Gnome, 2 Gisha girls, werewolf, the skateboarder, and Slicker the sailor.

Those Hasbro "KREO" Transformers minifigures are sweet. The sets are not so sweet.

I find it interesting that, aside from Megatron turning into a truck, all the figures and sets are G1. Even Megatron looks more like G1 Megatron reformatted to a truck than the DOTM Megatron.
