"No Tom Foolery today, Ron. I'm tired of looking at your dreadful, speckled mug."
"Why do you hurt me in this way, Harry?"
”It’s a grid system motherfucker. Eleven up and one over, you simple bitch.”

Re: LEGO!
There’s a used video game store in town that’s sorta dabbling in new and used Lego sets. They had the Tron:Legacy lightbike set for $25(it’s normally $35-40) so I grabbed it, a few base plates for a $1 each, and a police wagon from the 60008 Museum Heist set.

Re: LEGO!
Started the new City Space sets today. Got
30365- Space Satellite. Small polybagged set with an astronaut and a satellite. 36 pieces.
60225- Rover Testing Drive. Larger drivable rover, 2 figs.
60226- Mars Research Shuttle. Shuttle, tiny rover, drone, and 2 gigs.
60230-People Pack Space R&D. Comes with 15 minifigs and assorted accessories.
Will have to wait on the 3 bigger sets as they are $60, $100, and $150 respectively. But the entire subset together looks pretty cool.

Re: LE
Daughter was helping her mother clean out their basement. She brought home these two giant ass totes full of Legos.
We get to sort thru them and try to organize them into their original sets(I’ll post a pic of the instructions later on, there’s a fuckton)
Sadly, I don’t get to keep all of them, but it’ll be fun to go thru.
The adventure begins...

Re: LEGO!
Got the Passenger Train today. And if you spent $200 you got a free reversible tote bag (which was very nice) so I threw the People Pack into my order. But that only got me to $199.98 so I tossed that little astronaut pack in also.
I had never seen the ‘action figure’ peg packs before. It looks nifty.
The passenger train joins my Heavy Haul Cargo train and ApocalypseBurg sets in the ‘no place to display them so they’ll sit behind the door’ pile in the bedroom.

Re: LEGO!
Here’s the sorted bags. The bags down in front are assorted little people and weapons, tools, etc.
The other bag in front is pieces that are 1x1 or smaller.
There is a lot of black, white, brown, tan, light grey, and dark grey.
There were also two bags of non-Lego stuff like k’nex, megabloks, Tyco, etc.
Not sure which sets I want to attempt to build first. It’s gonna be a chore hunting thru each bag looking for individual pieces or it might be quicker to get the inventory page from a set and gather all the pieces first.

Re: LEGO!
I got a Speed Champions Porsche set to see if they’d be compatible with my Lego City sets. It’s a little bigger than I’d like so I probably won’t be getting more SC sets, but it’ll look good sitting in somebody’s driveway if I ever build the mega city in the back of my head.
For size comparisons, the blue car is from the recent Capital City set(60200)
The red one is from a tow truck set (60017)
And the little blue one is from one of the 3in1 creator sets that had a house in it. Not sure which one.

Re: LEGO!
Used some of my VIP points to get the Roller Coaster on Black Friday. It came Monday. That’s fast! I have the Carousel and Ferris Wheel sets and they are both the bomb, so this should be dope af also.
The gift with purchase was a Christmas tree. I was surprised it was bigger than I thought it’d be. It has a clever feature where the center is a separate build so when you spin the top of the tree, the mini train set at the base “rolls” around the tree. I put Spidey in for scale. It comes with 3 presents under the tree, but I added the ones from previous Winter sets like the train set and train station set so the gift pile is bigger.
I’m waiting for them to announce the next Modular City set which traditionally comes out at the beginning of the year.

This makes me sad. I hate technology. Also, they’re right side up on both my phone and tablet?vynsane wrote:rollo, all your pics are upside-down.

Re: LEGO!
mobile OSes use the built-in gyroscope to auto-rotate pics the 'right' way based on how the phone was held when the pic was taken, so you apparently take all your pics with the phone 'upside-down' and the OS compensates.Tom Foolery wrote:This makes me sad. yeah, i hear that. i have a few IKEA 'billy' bookshelves in my 'study' and the technic Porsche and the SHIELD Helicarrier are both displayed all they way on the top of them.I liked the smaller freebie version. Re: LEGO!
Hmmm. That makes sense, because I’m left handed, so I hold the tablet with the button on the “wrong” side when I take pictures.
I’ll adapt in the future.

Re: LEGO!
The LEGO website has been “Temporarily Out of Stock” for several months on a bunch of Exclusive sets I’ve wanted to buy. Until this week.
I’ve got
21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay
10273 Haunted House
21318 Tree House
all on the way.
Well, not on the way perse. ‘Out of Stock’ has changed to ‘Backorder’ and they won’t ship for 30-60 days. But I ordered them all.
I used $50 in VIP points on the Haunted House, so all three is gonna set me back $600 total.
