Rebels gets better. Much, much better. I'm serious when I say I'd put it up with Rogue One, maybe higher, depending on my mood.
Each season finale gets better, too, and they start out perfect.
Just a word of warning: don't write off any episode as filler, no matter how unimportant it may seem at the time.

Watching a documentary about the terrorist attack on Nakatomi Tower that happened Christmas Eve in 1988. Riveting stuff.

Good thing he had those giant rubber foot-shaped boots.

"Won't You Be My Neighbor", the Mr. Rodgers documentary was on PBS last night. He was an amazing man.

That's on my list.
Did I mention "I Tonya"? I can't see that far back on this page. It's kinda like a mockumentary - I think they did real interviews & then hired actors to play the roles based off of those. Surprisingly engaging.

Re: What have you watched lately?
Sit on my knee, we can discuss the first thing that pops up.
I rewatched "The Dark Crystal" yesterday & it was.... painful. I remember reading the book over & over as a kid, then finally seeing the movie. My memory held it in pretty high regard. It has not aged well.
There are a quite a few carry-overs from Star Wars - Frank Oz's voice as Ogra sounds suspiciously like "our little green friend", Jen's whining is very Luke-ish, and Ben Burt provided the sound work.

The LEGO Movie 2 was a lot of fun, unsurprisingly.

Re: What have you watched lately?
It was fan-fucking-tastic. I don’t understand why it underperformed at the BO. Maybe the weather? Maybe because the last “Lego” movie (Ninjago) didn’t do that well? I don’t know. It’s a crime.vynsane wrote:The LEGO Movie 2 was a lot of fun, unsurprisingly.
Polar. On Netflix. It’s based on webcomic-turned-graphic novel series. You’re all gonna wanna watch it, just for Ruby Fee’s extended nakedness halfway thru the movie. Seriously, it’s like Skinemax took over Netflix for about five minutes. I’ve seen softcore that was less graphic. Oh, and also Mads Mikkelson is a total badass in it.
Bohemian Rhapsody. Now I’ve seen 2 of the 10 Best Pic noms this year. I had no idea Bryan Singer directed this. And then I read the story of why. He got fired from it. And also Fox dumped his production company Bad Hat Harry.
Alita:Battle Angel. Saw it in IMAX 3D. Great visuals. Great world building. The intentional uncanny valley did not bother me. The last five to ten minutes of the movie were pretty cornball bad. But overall I had a lot of fun.

Alita: Battle Angel was a fun movie that looked amazing. Plots could have used some tweaks - not everything needs to set up a sequel. I thought they came very close to bridging the incanny valley.
The Thomas Crown Affair - I haven't seen it in years. Its not quite as slick as I remember, but most of it holds up. Renee Russo had some nice tits back then.

How To Train Your Dragon 3. Underwhelming sendoff to the trilogy. Wasn’t bad perse, but the second one felt more epic.

Django - somehow hadn't seen it until today. Typical Tarantino violence porn. One more to go & I've seen them all - Hateful 8 planned for Sunday.

I’ve seen his earlier stuff several dozen times each, but everything after Kill Bill I’ve only seen twice or once. I don’t want to say he’s repetitive, but...jjreason wrote:Django - somehow hadn't seen it until today. Typical Tarantino violence porn. Also Death Wish was on Hulu so I watched that. It’s a remake of a Jodie Foster movie from 2007 starring Bruce Willis.

As for Tarantino, most of his films In can only watch one. Repeat viewings tend to be tiresome for me.
Plup Fiction and Inglorious Basterds being the exception.
