The Simpsons Movie

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

... or does a Simpsons movie seem like a piece of shit idea right now, at least unless they get new writers?

Great show, but so past its prime that it's not funny.

Next July, which cartoon-based flick are you more excited about: The Transformers, or The Simpsons?

I haven't even seen the trailer for the Simpsons yet, but right now, I'd rather see the Transformers.

I'd rather see a live action Simpsons, complete with tons of CG enhancements on the characters... kind of like Marv in Sin City. That would rock.........

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, I couldn't keep a straight face any longer than that. I MIGHT go see Transformers, but I haven't watched the Simpsons in ten years. No chance I'll be going to see that one.

From what I can gather the damn preview was for the movie when it comes out on July 27.....of damn 2007! How are you gonna have a preview (and from what I can gather it wasn't much of a preview) so early?

Somehow, I don't see that happening.

Last night was a prime example of what's wrong with Simpsons now. First, an episode with Homer trying to get an NFL franchise in Springfield could have been hella funny ten years ago. There were too many obvious opportunities for jokes that they blew.

Grandpa would've never have actually killed a bull, were the writing on this show still up to par.

And, though Homer suggested "Stupid Flanders" as part of the stadium name, it never would've actually become part of the name. That's a total Family Guy joke, and the Simpsons folks have the nerve to say Family Guy is ripping them off.

I caught a rerun of Futurama on Adult Swim. It was a million times funnier than any Simpsons episode in years.

The episode wasn't that great, but I did laugh when Homer got hit in the nuts with the horn.

Even Dan Rather could be funny if a groin shot was involved.

I saw the "trailer". What a waste of time.[roll]

Sometimes the old Transformers cartoon was unintentionally funnier than the Simpsons. And Live Action Transformers is gonna RAWK! Except if George Clooney is Optimus. Then slightly less Rawkage.

If at some point in the future, the DVD crosses my path for free and I don't have anything else going on, or I happen to be at a friends house and it's on basic cable or network TV and the television was on anyway, I will watch this.

But the whole "Hot damn! I'm excited and marking days off on the calendar until Opening Night!" thing ain't happening.

I'll see it. I hope it's actually worth it, though.
