I just googled them and remember them now. I don't remember seeing the package before.

Yeah you would never see those on a bubble now I don't think. We had the little Star Destroyer & Landspeeder for sure, but I think we got them 2nd hand. I liked them, but didn't like how out of scale they were with each other. Anal, even then.

Re: star wars
Jings! I remember owning the TIE and X-wing die-cast way back when. The wings on the TIE snapped off way too easily and the guns on the X-wing were more like the fat lightsabers of the 1995 33/4 range. Just dildo shaped and orange for no particular reason. Oh, I had the landspeeder too. That was a bigger scale and had Luke and Ben sitting there with their hands on their knees so neither could drive the thing. Well they couldn't anyway being glued into their seats. They were cool toys though. And yes they did hurt when they hit you.
I also remember walking into stores that just seemed to be perpetually stocked with the action figures. rows and rows of them. My sister tells me I stole quite a number of them. I don't remember that.... Only one I remember stealing was the original Bespin Luke. And maybe Threepio with the removable limbs. Or possibly a Gamorrean guard.... it was all such a long, long time ago.......................

I'll likely forget about it - if you remember, remind me to watch it when it comes out.

Re: star wars
Only saw a few figures from Toy Fair that interest me. Torryn Farr, Sgt. Doyllan(?), & Yoda. Maybe that R5 droid (I don't even know what he's from). Ree-Yees isn't bad, I just don't think I need him. I thought the POTF2 was one of the better non-droid figures from that line. Did they say when these things are supposed to show up in stores? Or maybe the question should be "are they going to show up in stores?"

Re: star wars
"Are" is the operative word. Torynn and Yoda, and I think Bane Malar/Sgt. Doallyn (not sure which he is) are in Wave 4. Wave 3 is supposedly hitting, and has even supposedly been found at Target, but not in big numbers. There are too many Wave 1 shitpieces clogging shelves for me to get my hopes up about Wave 4. The other stuff, that's even further in the future, I think.
I want Plagueis from Wave 3. First basic SW figure I've wanted in a year or more. Pretty sad. I don't dislike SW, but I'm sick of clones, sick of resculpts, and not willing to pay more for a new version of a character who has more joints than the version I have but otherwise is inferior.
The 6" Vader might be my first and only purchase from that line. I'm rather concerned, though, that they show him unmasked. That makes me worried there may be a fitting problem with the helmet, especially given the quality control issues plaguing the line.
6" Jabba? Seriously. Give the slug a fucking dais. I don't know why they release Jabbas without daises. He's useless as fuck without it.

Re: star wars
I got Vizam from wave 3 up here just a few days ago, so they are hitting. The 6" Vader with Sebastian Shaw face literally made my jaw drop - not that I'll buy it as I'm not getting 6", but it looked really good. The 3.75" pending figures all looked great to me also, I'll likely get all of the ones shown today minus Plagueis.

Re: star wars
I ordered Vizam from Amazon before Christmas.
There hasn't been many 3.75" Black Series figures around here, except for TRU.
Hasbro can take those 5 POA Star Wars figures and shove them deep into their assholes. I've seen the Boba Fett, Han/Chewbacca, and R2/C-3PO at a Walmart recently. They don't appeal to me at all.

Re: star wars
I just hope they're not considering phasing out high quality 3.75" figures.

Re: star wars
They're not. Well, that's what they told me, anyway. This year is looking much better than last year so far, with these figures announced as coming in the super-articulated 3 3/4" Black Series line:jjreason wrote:I just hope they're not considering phasing out high quality 3.75" figures.
*Luke Skywalker (Dagobah Training)
*Yoda (Dagobah Training)
*Torynn Farr
*Wedge Antilles (Snowspeeder Pilot)
*Snowtrooper Commander
*Darth Vader (ROTS armor)
*Luke Skywalker (Hoth Outfit)
*R5-G19 (ROTJ Rebel briefing)
*Ree-Yees
*Brock Starsher (the recently named, white-suited skiff guard with Sgt. Doallyn's helmet)
*Captain Rex
*Clone Commander Wolffe
*Clone Commander (green, TCW from Season Six)
*Dack Ralter (TVC repack)
*AT-RT Driver (TVC repack)
*Bastila Shan (TVC repack)
*Darth Malgus (TVC repack)
*Starkiller (TVC repack)
*Republic Trooper (TVC repack, from The Old Republic game)
Not all the repacks are exciting to me, but they're all expensive on eBay, and Bastila Shan is the only US-released figure I never got, so I'm glad to see her return. And there will be more to reveal for later in the year. Already that's up to 19 figures for the line (including 6 repacks, but still), which is the same number of basic carded super-articulated 3 3/4" figures released in 2013.
For the record, here's last year's lineup, many of which are just now hitting wider retail:
Wave 1
01. Padmé Amidala (Arena)
02. Clone Trooper Sergeant
03. Anakin Skywalker
04. Biggs Darklighter
05. Luke Skywalker (Yavin Ceremony)
06. Darth Vader (Bespin Dinner)
07. Biker Scout
08. Clone Pilot
Wave 2
09. R2-D2
10. Pablo-Jill
11. Luminara Unduli
12. 41st Elite Corps Clone Trooper
13. Stormtrooper
14. Mara Jade
Wave 3
15. Merumeru
16. Clone Commander Neyo
17. Vizam
18. Darth Plagueis
19. Mace Windu (The Clone Wars)
So while last year mainly focused on AOTC and ROTS for the 3D releases that never were and just a little OT, this year looks to have its sights set on ESB, ROTJ, TCW, and EU so far.
I got Plagueis at the Disney Store yesterday. They've only just started carrying SW merchandise, and my store got in at least four cases of TBS wave 3, and a fucking shit-ton of 6" Boba Fett. There were still two Plagueises (Plagueii?) left after I got mine. It was nice to see each figure get a dedicated peg, so there's more than enough space at these stores for new figures. Hopefully this partnership will lead to cool exclusives and people actually being able to fucking find shit. But yeah, if you want Plagueis, you gotta hit the mall. I've seen the wave at several Targets recently, too, but they each only had one case and Plagueis was already long gone.anarky wrote:"Are" is the operative word. The QC problems with TBS seem to have gotten better. My wave 2 figures are better than wave 1, anyway, and I didn't have that many problems with my wave 1. As I've said, I'm sure they were just showing him unmasked to highlight the fact that his helmet is indeed removable. I should've asked to see it with the helmet, but it didn't cross my mind and these are still prototypes anyway so we just have to hope it works when it comes out.
And while Hasbro didn't confirm it, it seems like the SDCC exclusive will be 6" Jabba with other accessories – the final slide at their presentation had a TBS image of Salacious Crumb, at least – so it's possible that the dais will be part of an exclusive set. That'd be cool but ultimately frustrating, so we'll see.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Yeah... Leland Chee seems like a good guy, but he's not a storyteller or creator so when he comes up with names they can sound goofy as fuck. He recently named the main Weequay "Pagetti Rook," based on Mackenzie Crook's Pirates of the Caribbean character Ragetti, who hung out with Pintel. He coulda tried harder on that one, too.Slicker wrote:Brock Starsher? Seriously? That's my new porn name because it's just as lame and cheesy.
