Hmmm...maybe Netflix has edited versions or something because I've yet to see anything truly funny. Just a few semi-humorous things from a cast of mostly unlikable characters.Tom Foolery wrote:About four episodes ago.Diabolical wrote:I just watched the first four episodes.
So...at what point does this show get funny and/or good?

I didn't care for the first few episodes either, which is why it took me three tries to get into this show. It does take a little while to get used to the style and the characters - and they're supposed to be mostly unlikeable. In most cases, you're definitely laughing at them, not with them.Diabolical wrote:Hmmm...maybe Netflix has edited versions or something because I've yet to see anything truly funny. Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Damn, man. I know "to each his own" and all.
If you give it a few more episodes and re-watch the earlier ones, they might be funnier once you've picked up some of the characters' quirks (particularly Tobias and GOB). And, yeah, except for Michael and possibly George Michael and Maybe, you're definitely supposed to be laughing at them.
Thomas Jane shows up later, playing himself.

Have any of you seen all the Netflix season four episodes? Man, what an incredibly ambitious project. People can bitch and moan about how some of the episodes run a little long, or how they don't think Lindsay should have her own episodes or whatever, but the way they all interconnect and play off each other is pretty amazing. For those that don't know, the actors' schedules prevented a lot of interaction between them, so things were shot out of order and each character has one or two episodes where they are the lead. It basically charts each character after the events of the season three finale to show where they've been since then. The season often crosses back to see various scenes from multiple perspectives, revealing more and more each time. You have to take all 15 episodes as a whole and realize that even then it's still setup for whatever is coming next, be it a movie or another season or whatever. But it's still hilarious.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

I figure it'll be on DVD in about three months, so I'll get it then.

Well, seeing as how it was produced by Netflix and was basically thought of as a way for them to draw in more subscribers, I'm thinking you'll be waiting a bit longer than that.anarky wrote:I figure it'll be on DVD in about three months, so I'll get it then.

I was basing it off the relatively quick turnaround of House of Cards. I figure realistically AD4 should be out by Christmas.
