Anyone heard of her?
I heard her last month on Letterman and thought she had a great voice, so I picked up her album a few days ago for like $6 or $7.
I don't know how to describe her music, but her cd booklet describes her style as a combination of Pop, Motown and Philly Soul with a bit of hip-hop, which I guess is pretty close.
She worked with Burt Bacharach, Carole King, Carly Simon and Bob Dylan - and this is her debut album.
There are only a couple of weak tunes on the album, IMO. Some deeper, more meaningful songs would have been nice, but I still really dig it. She'll be amazing if continues to grow as a song writer.
