I think it's a holdover from Resolute that refuses to die, like female Dial-Tone.

There are reports of the POC Alpha vehicles showing up at Ross for $7.99.

I was going to say that. I saw the first four yesterday (AWE Striker, Thunder Cycle, Ice Cutter, and Ghost Hawk). Got all of them, plus an extra Thunder Cycle. I still might break down and get some extra cycles for my other 'Noks.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
The Skystriker is showing up at Target. I have no interest in it. No room and I don't want to spend the money. I thought I saw something about a Y-Wing. If I get the Y-Wing, it will probably be the last toy of that size I purchase.
I'd just be happy if Target had something besides Destro, Duke, Dusty, Zartan, and the Jungle Viper. For me, GI Joe has filled in the gaps created by the lack of Star Wars.
As part of the 30 Anniv. Joe line, they are going to repaint the new VAMP. The picture I saw made it look better than the orignal one. I never did pick one up from Ross. I almost did once, but the box had been opened and I was afraid it would be missing pieces.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
I found Blowtorch & a new Cobra Cmdr up here - I thought for sure Blowtorch was going to be a "buy" when I saw the pics of him, but he was a fairly easy pass in real life. Not that I was super disappointed or anything, he just didn't have that awesome factor for me the same way he did when I was 12 or 13. I guess tactical fluorescent yellow might be a bit harder to take at face value now, maybe that's it.

Target restocked some of their toys. The only new GI Joe item is the Skystriker. Otherwise, if you are into My Little Pony or Little Pet Shop, you're in luck.
The Big Lots next door to the Target I went to had those gereric military toys again. Thre was a tank, small helicoptor, patrol boat, dune buggy, two different humvees, and a watchtower set. I might go back and get the Humvee.

30th Anniversary stuff is hitting Walmart. At one store I saw a few of the various Cobra figures and the VAMP. Another only had Cobra plane. Stalker is the only one I intend on buying, but haven't seen him yet.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
I got Wave 1 of the figures. Saw a VAMP Mark II, but it was crushed.
Given the figures that were re-released in Wave 1 (Steel Brigade, Iron Grenadier, and Cobra Trooper), I'm missing the last few waves of Pursuit of Cobra: Shadow Tracker, Rock Viper, Crazylegs, Hawk, Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes, and Jungle BAT. One of the re-releases came with an extra gun in the POC version for some reason, but they come with more guns than they can use, and it was a common, basic one, so I'm not too concerned about it (though I think it was the IG, so I wouldn't mind getting an extra anyway--that's a cool-ass figure even if I can really figure out how the machine gun works).

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
I thought you got Crazylegs. I saw him more than any figure from that wave (not recently though). Never bought him. Didn't look like a very good figure.
The 2nd wave of the 30th anniversary figures is showing up at Walmart. It is 4 Renegades figures, Duke, Snake Eyes, Firefly, & Cobra Commander. None of them interest me.

The thing that always annoyed me most about Crazylegs was his codename. Is that really a callsign for an elite soldier?

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
This weekend we went to a vintage toy store that recently opened up downtown on Freemont Street. It was sort of an odd mix of stuff, mostly from the 70s up to some of the recent lines. They had Barbie, Matchbox/Hot Wheels, Star Wars, Transformers, GI Joe, and other random lines. Not nearly as much Star Wars and Transformers as I expected. It was the first time I saw Omega Supreme and Devestator completely assembled.
Their GI Joe selection was decent. Both vintage and modern. They had a Flagg, which I had only seen in old commercials. My daughters were impressed with it, and they aren't big fans of toys for boys. It was bigger than I expected. I didn't really look at many prices, but they had a bunch of Joes from the 25th line. Most of the single carded figures were $15 and most comic packs were $25. I almost bought Buzzer and the Tomax & Xamot set. It was the cheapest I've seen either since they were retail. Then I remembered that I didn't really like the concept of Tomax & Xamot and $15 was still too much for a single figure.
Anyway, if your in town, it is kind of a cool place to see.

Hey, anarky. Did you ever get the Resolute sets? If not, BBTS has both of them for $50.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
I bought the new Renegades Snake-Eyes, Firefly, And Duke for my friend in CA. Frankly I don't see what the big deal is. I don't like that skinny animé style.
Also saw the new Sgt. Stalker. What's up with the dreadlocks? Since when is that militarily permissible? He's a soldier, not an NFL strong safety.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
I didn't know what you meant so I googled these - ugh. Looks like they're going with the Clone Wars concept but based on a slightly different style of animation. I must therefore assume that GI Joe Renegades is a new animated show done in that style? I'm sadly out of the loop.
