Will, Jaden Smith reunite for sci-fi tale!

LOS ANGELES – Will Smith and son Jaden are teaming up again on the big-screen.

The two last starred together in the 2006 drama "The Pursuit of Happyness." They will work together in an as-yet-untitled science-fiction adventure for Columbia Pictures, a unit of Sony Corp.

M. Night Shyamalan is directing and co-writing the movie starring the 42-year-old father and his 12-year-old son. Shyamalan also directed "The Sixth Sense" and "The Last Airbender."

Sony said Monday that the movie centers on a boy struggling to save himself and his estranged father after their ship crashes on an abandoned Earth a thousand years in the future.

As they did on their son's 2010 hit, "The Karate Kid," Will and Jada Pinkett Smith will be producers on the new movie.

"Will Smith, Jaden Smith, AND M. Night Shamalamadingdong all working on one movie?" was the only comment heard at a stunned impromptu meeting of the UN Security Council, before all members agreed upon preemptively banning the showing of this movie under the Geneva Convention.

"Luckily, we do not believe that the movie contains a scene of Michael Bay orally pleasing Charlie Sheen," said Pope Benedict XVI. What's with all the animosity towards Jaden Smith? I'd go see Jaden and Will in a movie that WASN'T directed by M'nite Shamalamadingdong.
That guy had 1 1/2 good movies. Now everything cinematic he touches dies.

The Pursuit of Happyness was mediocre.

The Karate Kid, from what I saw, was awful.

His father is buying him a career.

Ten years ago, almost anyone, including us here, would have described Shyamalan as "awesome" and "one of the best new directors." That career ran out of steam in record time.

For me, Signs was the turning point. In the back of my mind, I kept thinking that a twist was coming up. And I crossed my fingers it wasn't the obvious "water kills them" that it was telegraphing. When it was, I was too busy being disappointed by that to even care about stupid shit like "swing."

The Village killed it. I was too busy looking for "the twist" to pay attention to the story, which was pretty weak. The twist was obvious a few minutes in, and the rest of the movie was just "meh." Haven't even bothered with anything he's done since.

Unbreakable, while being decently acted has the pacing equivalent of pushing your car that's broken down 2 hours to the nearest station.
Everything after that was dull. I figured out the 'twist' to The Village from watching the trailer.

Of the ones I've seen, the only 2 movies he's done that I've liked are Signs and Unbreakable.

The Sixth Sense was a piece of shit.
