yeah, i want to build one of those, too. i think it's the same design (with a different cockpit piece) as this:

They are similar, it doesn't look like the engines swivel in the one you posted.

And its not just the cockpit, the whole nose section looks different. The one I posted has a more downward tilt to the beak.
Also, the arch piece between the back engine and the body body of the ship is different.

I'd buy either one (or a bigger version) in a heartbeat.

looks like it's based on and modified from the one i linked to. the differences seem to be more cosmetic, whereas the similarities are structural. meanwhile, check out his ginormous LEGO firefly.

anyway, i entered the phoenix fireball into the Eurobricks LEGO Digital Designer Contest - i doubt anyone here other than maybe rollo is registered there, but still... wish me luck!

I've been messing with that Lego Design program and I'm starting to get the hang of it. Since I'm into the mini racers, I've started off with trying to make K.I.T.T., but the program is missing a few pieces and piece colors. I might give up on it for now and try something else, like the Ghostbuster's car.

no need to give up - register at eurobricks.com and learn how to unlock 'universe mode' which gives you basically every brick in production, which you can then 'paint' any official LEGO color!

Cool, thanks. I changed the .ini file. It looks like there are new pieces, but the new menu options aren't showing up. Still doesn't have some of the wheel wells I need. Don't feel like messing with it now, so I'll try again tomorrow.

you have to then select 'universe mode' before you start building - it's added as a new option to 'creator', 'designbyme', and 'mindstorms'.

i think KITT needs to be a bit more sleek and low-profile. long hood, short deck.

my new LDD project is basically an extension of the indiana jones LEGO license - the Lao Che Airfreight Ford Tri-Motor airplane from the beginning of 'temple of doom'. i have a LOT of photo reference for this one, and even a series of schematic drawings! with how expensive the 'phoenix fireball' was ($90!) and how comparably huge the tri-motor would be, i don't know if i'll ever get around to actually building it. that's what's great about LDD!

after that, i want to make jock's OB-CPO biplane from 'raiders'.

Will do, studly. (get it? Studly. It's a LEGO joke...never mind.)

Did you see all the new SW LEGOs they showed at Comic Con? The new Imperial Shuttle is jizzworthy. It makes the one I have look like a clown car.

sweet, thanks dude - i'm still holding on to third place, i think.

i've seen pics of the UCS Shuttle. it looks pretty awesome, but totally out of my price range. if i find it for 50% clearance next year, i'll pick it up. i'm more into original themes at this point - space police, creator, world racers... i buy the odd SW set on occasion - i have the midi scale falcon, the newest luke's landspeeder, the echo base set with han on the taun taun, and the two mini scale sets that target had at easter. i'm still trying to get all the indy sets i want.

rollo, dude, i could really use your three points - i'm in the running for second place now, it's currently first place: 52 points (never going to catch that one), second place: 22, me: 21!

HOWEVER, you have to have been a member of the site before the day the contest was announced (seems fair, otherwise i would've had you guys flooding the votes for me) so i you're not already a registered member... well, i guess i'm at the mercy of the whims of that community.
