Yeah, didn't know about the Wolf Hound until after I got the Ice Dagger. No worries, though--both are awesome as hell, and I've got such an insane Arctic Cobra contingent (having picked up the snow HISS, a few Snow Serpents, and a couple of the Arctic sets), I need some Joes to face them down.

I'm trying to figure out how to get the Sarges (or at least one of them). I'll only be at SDCC one day this year, on Sunday, which is a short day, and by which point there's a good chance Hasbro will be sold out. They oughtta set up some sort of pre-order program like Sideshow has.

Last year they had Star Wars, Transformers, My Little Pony, and Littlest Pet Shot convention exclusives on the Hasbrotoyshop website. I'd bet they put Slaughter up there this year. If they do, I might grab one if the price isn't crazy.

Joe exclusives have been severely underproduced (aside from last year's movie Destro 2-pack, since no one wanted it), and hardly ever show up on HTS.

Carded and loose photos of Sgt Slaughter. Both of them.

I'm hoping either the army-looking version isn't the shortpacked one, or that most people want the more rasslin'-styled one.

Got both new vehicles (the more accurate Snow CAT redo and the latest HISS remake) today. Also got some more CG packs.

Some TRU's have those army builder sets for $14.98. All clearance items are 25% off this week. And all Joes are buy one, get one half off. I got ten CG's for $16.85... IIRC, that's even less than one pack was at Ross. I'm going to paint them or something, and let A Jr pick the colors--she chose green, so at least some of them will be camo.

Is the Roadblock/Lady Jay/Destro DVD pack worth the money? I was thinking about getting it plus one of the 3 packs. Plenty of Deep Six/Torpeedo/Cutter sets around here.

Yes. The Roadblock is recolored from the original, and the Destro has a metallic head. But the Jaye has a totally new head, and is the only worthwhile Jaye.

Look around any closeout stores around you. They aren't available around here anymore, but those things were massively clearanced last year. I got two and would give you my extra Lady Jaye... only, um, the entire reason I got the second one was to get a second Lady Jaye, and her parts have found new homes in a half-done Cover Girl.

Met up with vynsane.com's very own Ran on Wednesday and traded some figures and vehicles. I've already used the body from the Scrap-Iron included with the Snake Trax ATV Ferret, combining pieces from one of the Crimson Guards I got from the TRU sale and a red Resolute Trooper I had from an earlier Target clearance to make a Resolute-styled Crimson Guard (I'm calling him a "Crimson Guard Vanguard Trooper" in my head because it sounds cool) and a Cobra Sentry, along with some extra pieces that basically make Scrap-Iron in CG disguise. The Resolute Trooper head, backpack, and rifle on the Scrap-Iron body look pretty sweet.

(JJL, if you're ever looking at this thread or any other thread that mentions GIJoe stuff with things crossed out, it's because Hasbro has re-named a lot of the 80s characters in vehicles. For instance, they may call the combat ATV the "Snake Trax ATV" now, but it's always going to be the Ferret for anyone who grew up with Joe. Not sure if you'd be familiar with the older names or not; I think most of them would be before your time.)

Are you army building Cobra Officer/Crimson Guard? The comic pack is $6 on the TRU website. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.js ... Id=2886420

They also have the motorcycle with Beachhead and Rollbar for $11. I thought about it, but it looks kind of goofy. Almost like Adam West should be driving it with Robin in the sidecar.

I already bought one and I'm not going to army build.

Anyway, I'm getting the Roadblock/Destro DVD set and ROC Deep Six for $25 after tax & shipping. The TRU near me still has the DVD set at $24.

I usually don't, but I saw this. I'm actually not really familiar with any of the vehicles (and only very few of the characters). Still, that's pretty interesting.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

I realized just now when reading your response how snarky that sounded. I just thought you might wonder why Joe threads tend to have so many strikethroughs since you would've caught the very end of the "Real American Hero" Joe line, if you knew it at all.

I didn't think it sounded too snarky. 'Tis all good, sir. As for toys, before SW, it was for me, at various times, Aladdin, Power Rangers, and Toy Story, with a few odds and ends. But I don't think I ever bought any Joes. Oh well.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Yojoe has pictures of GI Joe's booth from SDCC.
http://photos.yojoe.com/showgallery.php?cat=698

Dusty and Lowlight look pretty nice. Dusty has an alternate head and comes with some razor wire. Lowlight is loaded with sniper gear. There is a pretty sweet Snake Eyes as well. From the picture I like it more than the movie version I have. There is a new Snow Job and Recondo on the way, too. They are both a pretty good blend of giving the vintage style figure a more modern/realistic look.

If that Snow Cat ever makes it to clearance, I might have to grab it. It looks pretty nice, but I feel I'm spending too much on this crap and running out of places to put it.

There is an Alpine figure that comes with some Mech looking vehicle. He has similar funky colors as the TRU Doc.

Besides a new AWE Striker, there are some funky looking mini-vehicles that look to be about the same size as the Ferret and Mole Pod.

Digging the new VAMP and Fury.

I don't want any of the mechs. A lot of Joe nerds seem to like them, but they're not Joe to me. Okay, maybe a Cobra one. I can imagine Cobra coming up with something like that (and it comes with a modern-era Desert Scorpion). Not the Joes, though.

Skydive looks cool, but not as a Joe. If I get him, it'll be for whatever's under the armor, or I'll paint him into a Cobra.

If the Snake Eyes you like is the "Ninja Commando" one, be warned he has an action feature. Several of the new ninja figures will have those damned karate kick features.

I can't get excited about that Shadow Tracker guy. Most Joe nerds seem to be splooging their pants over him, but he's a fucking Predator. Same with the Jungle Viper, except without the Predator comment.

Low-Light: well, I don't have to customize one now.

Cobra Shock Trooper looks the bitchingest to me, personally. I like Cobra just slightly beyond the realm of normal, with some crazy shit mixed in with a lot of normal dudes with scary-looking outfits.

Loving the red Alley Viper. Much more than the orange and blue version.

Snow Job looks very close to the ROC figure. Maybe a couple of switched parts with other Arctic figures. Dusty is cool, but he doesn't look "Dusty" to me.

I've seen the updated Ghost[/ghost] Sky Hawk; I'm still not too sure I like the weird metallic look to it.

Black AWE Striker is fucking sweet. I'll get it yet again. The AWE Striker is a basic vehicle I always envisioned the team having a ton of.

HISS Attack Scout is bitching (especially with the all-black HISS Driver), but the ninja cycle in the same picture looks like shit. Being a motorcycle, though, maybe if it's cheap or goes on sale. I'd rather have a faithful Silver Mirage update.

Cobra Ice Cutter is pretty cool. Weird, but cool. I actually like the red-tinged Snow Serpent more. Hasbro's pretty much guaranteed anyone collecting all or most Joe toys has to have an Arctic display.
