I was in Barnes/Noble a couple weeks ago and saw this sweet price guide for all things RAH. Beautiful color photos of every figure, vehicle and accessory from the original 13 up to well I didn't get to the end. I must've spent almost an hour sitting there flipping through it and reminiscing. I didn't have a superfluous $20 on me to buy it otherwise it would have gone home with me.

Only thing is, sites like yojoe.com have rendered the picture part obsolete (they've even got a tool for determining who a random gun goes to), and the price guide has been largely rendered obsolete by eBay.

I wouldn't have used it for a priceguide anyway. More of a visual checklist. And its easier to flip a couple pages than churning through tons of url links to look at stuff.

Family Dollar has some of the Anniversary line figures for $3. I saw the Cobra RPG trooper, Flint dressed as Cobra, Pilot Scarlet, and the Tracker guy from MASK. I can't decide how in-depth I want to collect GI Joe. I have 4 basic carded figures and 2 comic packs.

Saw the movie line figures on clearance at Target for $2.50. Thought about buying Stormshadow and Snake Eyes since I never picked them up from the Anniversary line.

Big Lots had that same wave for $4. I don't remember ever seeing a Family Dollar around here. If you want to start collecting, I'd recommend hitting any closeout store: Big Lots, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Ross, maybe even 99c Only at some point. I even found last years online exclusive army builder sets at Rite-Aid, but I doubt there are any more to be had. There's a LOT hitting closeout stores, and I expect it to be more as the movie stuff keeps rotting. I've stocked up on Cobra troop builders and custom fodder. Between the initial figures I bought at full price, Target clearances, and now Big Lots, I've got an entire squad of Flint in Cobra gear (since it comes with the interchangeable generic Cobra head, making it essentially a Cobra with his sleeves rolled and and toting a laser rifle (like in the 'toon).

Some especially good finds, if they're still around: the exclusive Cobra Island sets for $17 at Ross, and the Viper vs Iron Grenadier comic packs (and others) for $7 at Marshalls.

Most of the stuff I had was purchased at Target/Walmart, but since then I've been looking to expand. Haven't been to Big Lots. I've been looking at Ross, TJ Max, etc. I haven't seen any of the main characters (Snake Eyes, Destro, Zartan, Cobra Commander). At least I have Destro and Cobra Commander figures in the Comic Packs. I was looking for them on individually carded. Could have bought Mutt and Croc Master a couple times. I might go back and get the Rock and Roll/Deep 6 comic pack from a Ross out in Henderson tomorrow on my way back from work.

TRU had the Crimson Guard and Firefly vs. Generic Joes battle packs on clearance for $15.

Those sets are well worth it.

Check your local Target(s) if you want any movie figures. They're on clearance, and, from the looks of things, they're moving out a lot of stock from the back now. I got some pretty choice figures today. The Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes is one of the nicest SE figures made; he comes with Timber and doesn't have the stupid movie lips.

What is the green/silver thing that came with the movie Stormshadow figure?

It's a nanomite warhead. If you watch the movie, which I don't really recommend, they're pretty important. It goes with a suitcase that comes with the first Baroness figure, and I'm not sure why Storm Shadow has one.

It looks like something that would go in the Baroness.

I got the Ice Dagger from the movie (okay, I don't think it actually shows up) today through Hasbro's sale, and it's a pretty bitching update of the old Snow Cat.

I had hardly any vehicles from the vintage line, but the Snowcat was one of the ones I wish I had. Bitchin' indeed.

I didn't have many GI Joe vehicles back in the day either. Actually, I only had the snowmobile, the MANTA, and the battle platform. But my brother had a lot of vehicles, including the Snowcat. It was a pretty cool toy.

Thinking about ordering some Joes from Bigbadtoystore. Looks like I can get Major Blood, Sgt Flash, Ripper/Torch, Duke/Cobra Commander, Deep 6/Rock & Roll for about $40 shipped. Think its worth it?

Can't seem to find a Dr. Mindbender for a decent price. Not sure why I want him. Might grab a Crimson Guard/Cobra Infantry from TRU or some other website. I've seen it for as low as $6.99. Other comic packs I'm considering are the Beachhead & Dataframe and Gung Ho & Cobra Commander. Thought about getting Hawk and the Snow Serpent, but didn't want to spend the extra $10.

The only other movie figures I've seen that I'm interested in are Beachhead and Deep 6. Well, so far at least.
