Holy shit. I see why I keep coming across folks bitching about how late it is now. That's in All-Star Batman territory now. Maybe worse. If it's coming out that irregularly, it makes sense the collection isn't out yet. I figured either it was on number 12 or so, or it was done in 6-part miniseries.

I'm going to blame Millar without even knowing specifics, entirely based on the fact that Romita Jr is one of the most punctual guys in comics and has been for almost thirty years. (Damn, he's been in the biz for that long? I feel old as hell.)

there've been enough reprints, you should be able to find them for a reasonable price somewhere...

I stopped and picked up the few I had waiting from the last couple of weeks:
Criminal: The Sinners #3
Punisher #12
Daredevil #503
Star Wars Legacy #43
Gotham City Sirens #7

Also, Borders is closing a shit ton of stores real soon, including the one in my mall, so everything was 30% off and I had a $5 off coupon so I picked up the trade of X-Men: Magneto Testament for only $9.53. Despite having every issue I still wanted to the trade to read in one sitting without having to switch books or to let others read it. Plus there is a bunch of bonus material I wanted to check out.

Haven't made to the comic shop last week or today. I only have 4 books waiting for me:
Batman Widening Gyre #4
Punishermax #3
Punisher Max: Get Castle One-shot
The Boys #38

But I did swing back to my soon-to-be closing Borders and got The Zombie Survival Guide Recorded Attacks for about $6 (65% off). Not a lot of text - I read all 140+ in about a half hour.

I know I keep asking, but has Legacy ever gotten to the "worth buying" stage, in your opinion, or is it still a "why the hell did I drop $3 on this again" comic?

It always feels as if they're building toward something big, but continue plodding along slowly. I'm almost thinking this will read better later as one big story as opposed to numerous smaller arcs.
One big problem the series has is that it tries to do far too much. There are too many characters, plots and factions all fighting for attention.

And the big damn shame is they re-introduced Artoo quite a while ago and have almost completely ignored him.

Been picking up my comics in bunches lately.
I decided to stop today and pick up about $20 worth, which makes the additional $20 coming in tomorrow seem less expensive.

Batman and Robin #9
Gotham City Sirens #9
The Boys #40
Green Hornet #1
Star Wars Legacy #45
Punisher Max: Butterfly - one of the worst stories I've ever read. Boring, confusing, and almost no Punisher in it.

damn, i haven't posted in here since november? well, i ain't going back THAT far...

last month i somehow pared down what would've been $99.75 to $31.86 at the store (after a $20 accrued discount) and $9.12 in subscriptions. here's the rundown:

02/03/10
Cinderella: From Fabletown with Love 4
Savage Dragon 157
Invincible Iron Man 23
Siege 2
Spider-man Noir: Eyes Without a Face 3

02/10/10
BPRD: King of Fear 2
Haunt 5
Invincible Presents: Atom Eve & Rex Splode 3
Amazing Spider-man Presents: Jackpot 2
Amazing Spider-man 620
Ultimate Comics Spider-man 7

02/17/10
Astounding Wolf-man 21
Invincible 70
Amazing Spider-man 621
Daredevil 505
Dark Avengers 14
Spider-man 1602 5
Spider-woman 6
Web of Spider-man 5
Atomic Robo and the Revenge of the Vampire Dimension 1

02/24/10
Image United 0
The Walking Dead 70
Amazing Spider-man 622
Iron Man Vs. Whiplash 4
New Avengers 62
Spider-man: The Clone Saga 6
The Black Terror 8
Buck Rogers 9
Project Superpowers Chapter 2 7

some of those were bought the first week of march, but i counted them in the totals for feb, so that's quite the cut. obviously, without the $20 discount it would have totalled $51.86 but still, that's a big decrease. i anticipate picking up some of those books later on but perhaps i'll look for a discount on those.

this month, i've cut a bit less at the last moment and focused more on deciding what i would and wouldn't pick up. still, there are two books i left on the shelf this week.

03/03/10
Cinderella: From Fabletown With Love 5
Astro City: The Dark Age Book 4 2
Amazing Spider-man 623
Invincible Iron Man 24
Spider-man Noir: Eyes Without a Face 4
Ultimate Comics Avengers 5
Ultimate Comics New Ultimates 1
Kevin Smith's Green Hornet 1

03/10/10
BPRD: King of Fear 3
Ex Machina 48
Savage Dragon 158
Amazing Spider-man 624
Ultimate Comics Spider-man 8
Web of Spider-man 6
Powers 3

Out of curiosity, vyn, are you buying Haunt out of sheer Kirkman loyalty, or did it get massively better after the first issue? I saw the first issue posted free on Newsarama, so I read it, and I was not particularly impressed by it. I've not read as much Kirkman as you have, but he really seemed to be phoning it in. Maybe even texting it in. I didn't feel compelled to read #2, and only finished #1 because it was free.

I don't care if you do like it, but we all have been guilty of buying subpar work from artists we like in the hopes it'll get better (for proof of that in this thread, witness Diabolical and Legacy), and wasn't sure if that was the only reason you were getting it.
