Re: star wars
The only ones that interested me a little was:
Clone Wars Jar Jar Binks
I wish they'd release a better CW Artoo.
The new Episode I Queen Amidala
The Target exclusive RC Artoo
And the Galactic Heroes Admiral Ackbar

Re: star wars
It's not a contest; it's probably gonna be like the mail-aways they've had every year for the last several years - stormtrooper Lucas, coin set, and Captain Rex - where you just get the stickers from figures or whatever and put some money in there and send it off. Er, wait, have you been around for any of those?Slicker wrote:It's seriously a fucking mail away? First they don't have it in the states and now they know they have people by the balls for it so they're gonna have a dumb ass contest.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

It's the fucking liberals who made it a mail-away so you soldiers can't get any. I hate Democrats!!

Re: star wars
Luckily, the one on sale was the one I wanted. I'd only buy the other rebel pilots set if it was super-cheap because I don't want that green alien pilot.

Re: star wars
For you OT-only people, you might (or might not) be happy to know that there's a comic pack coming later this year or next with Camie and Fixer from the ANH deleted scene.

Down there on the right side. I think that's pretty awesome.

I'll wait and see about Camie and Fixer. I never really cared if they were ever made. I'd like to see the Coran Horn pack.
If that rumor on RS is right, it is cool that they are making the blue R3 from the ANH Death Star, but it sucks that it is a Build a droid figure that comes with prequel stuff.

Re: star wars
It looks like at least one of the pieces will be with one of the ugnaughts (the ugnaught will first be shipping with a U-3PO part). The SCUBA Trooper, blue ARC Trooper, and Saleucami Trooper also look to be coming with parts, though they're from the prequel era and all just redundant figures anyway. I actually think that he'll ship in an OT wave, since we already know that he's not coming in the ESB, TPM, or AOTC waves. Maybe ROTJ?Ran wrote:I'll wait and see about Camie and Fixer. Re: star wars
hey! look! a star wars-related toy i want!
dark empire luke skywalker/clone emperor comic pack!
i have the original 'expanded universe' versions of both of them and leia, but these look really awesome. i might actually get them! anyone seen them in-person? are they any good? i really love 'dark empire' - one of the best ever pieces of EU. i know with this crowd that's not saying much, but i enjoyed a fair bit of EU. then it got ridonkulous.

Re: star wars
I got them a few weeks/months ago. They're still around everywhere for cheaper than that, so look around and you can see them in-person for yourself and decide from there.
They're pretty good. I'm not into that story so I can't really judge them based on that. Luke's robe is preposed plastic but he's got good enough articulation to still look cool in a few different ways. Palpatine's robe is soft goods and can be taken off to reveal some crazy-ass blue melanoma thing going on.

Re: star wars
I've seen them and they look good, but I didn't think they were quite $13 good. If it's the only SW toy you want, though, it's well worth it.

Re: star wars
On the subject of rising prices, a guy in my area said that he found the new battle packs for $26. That's a $6 increase over what it was just a few years ago. Not as bad as the $30 increase on the ARC-170, but still pretty damn bad. This means that, if you want to outfit your Republic gunship with those new pods, it's going to cost you more than the gunship did when it first came out - and that's just for one ship! Fuck!

Re: star wars
Not to be a downer, but when they're jacking up prices as quickly as they are, why is it they seem to not recognize why overall sales aren't up to expectations in this shit economy?
