I'm happy the Magneto book is coming out this week - I was worried I had missed one. :whew:

Me too. It feels like its been a few extra weeks since the last one.

I'm just praying they don't fuck it up and goo full out Magneto in the series. The couple very subtle hints of his power have been nice. They've been so subtle that a non comics reader (or someone unfamiliar with the character) probably wouldn't notice them.

we had a slew of 5 wednesday months this year... i think like 4 or 5 of them. could account for the timespan seeming longer between issues.

same excuse can't be used for 'iron man: viva las vegas'. shit, man... the first issue came out coinciding with the movie release, and i think we're still waiting on issue 3! but with adi granov doing all interiors and favreau writing, i'll wait it out. plus with the $3.99 pricetag, i'm okay with them not coming out rapidfire. saves the wallet some stress. still... another hollywood type writing a comic that doesn't come out spells bad news for hollywood types writing comics.

The should do like DC did with Kevin Smith's Batman Cacophony and wait until the entire thing is done before scheduling it.

It looks like both companies should learn to do that. So many of these Hollywood divas writing comics nowadays; they bring in readers, but this isn't their "real" job so they see it as unimportant and fall behind.

yeah, the deadline thing doesn't seem to sit too well with movie makers.

here's what i got this monday (last week's comics)

Jack of Fables 29
Avengers/Invaders 7
Venom: Dark Origin 5
War Machine 1
Kick-ass 5

here's what i got yesterday (this week's comics)

in the store
Hellboy: The Wild Hunt 2
Umbrella Academy: Dallas 1
Umbrella Academy: Dallas 2 (the missus got me 'The Apocalypse Suite' TPB for x-mas, and it was good enough to add to my list)
The Walking Dead 57 (holy crap, what an issue... chilling in the same way 'the road' was)
Spider-man: Fear Itself 1 (meh... i don't know why, other than the fact that it had spider-man in it... it wasn't very good.)

in the mail
Amazing Spider-man 582
Invincible Iron Man 9

here's what i'll get next week (in case i forget to list it here):

in the store
BPRD: The Black Goddess 2
Fables 80
Death-Defying 'Devil 2
Invincible 28
X-men/Spider-man 3 (which apparently shipped last week in the guise of X-men: Manifest Destiny 5

Last week, I grabbed:
The Boys # 26
NYX: No Way Home #5 (of 6)
The Punisher #1 - With this first issue alone Rick Remender proves he has a far better grasp of the character than Matt Fraction ever did.
Plus, there's a nice 12 page recap of the history of the Punisher. Good, bad, and ugly, they covered it all.

make that:

in the store
BPRD: The Black Goddess 2
Fables 80
Death-Defying 'Devil 2
Invincible 28
X-men/Spider-man 3
Amazing Spider-man 583 Obama Variant ($127 on eBay and i got it for $2.07 due to the midtown comics discount program... BOOYAH!)
Amazing Spider-man 577 (got run over by a car... I MEAN came damaged in the mail and i waited too long to request a replacement, but at least they expanded my subscription by one issue... did that for mighty avengers, as well... that one came REALLY damaged in the mail. it looked like the bag was opened half way, the comic was pulled out the hole, then it was stuffed back in and taped up.)

in the mail
Amazing Spider-girl 28
Amazing Spider-man 583 Regular Edition[/quote]

Y'know comic shops are PISSED about this last-minute Obama variant. It's going to drum up sales, but most shops won't have it because they won't know it existed.

truth. according to CBR, it's a 25-30% ratio, but you only got it if you ordered more than the amount of issue 575, so the distribution is going to be really wonky. alls i know is midtown had a shit-ton. they were only one-per-customer, though.

A lot of the stores would've ordered more copies, though, if they knew there'd be a variant that would appeal to non-readers.

well, i think they realized they screwed up and that's why we're getting the 2nd printing variant edition next week. they announced it before the initial version was even released!
