I don't know if I'd classify a lot of them as "hard rock" but it's a decent list.

I find half of this list risible. Hard rock applied like a fitting sobriquet when it's more like the tracks are flaccid and limp. you might as well add Enya or Rick Astley to the list for all it's worth.
I have never read any of your posts, but from what I can learn I should say that for people who like the kind of posts you deliver, they are just the kind of posts such people like.

I just noticed every artist has only one entry, unless I'm missing something. That ain't right. There are more than a couple who rightfully should have ten of their own.

Zeppelin, Black Sabbath,Van Halen, and the Who all have two.

Evanescense? I would also argue about several of those other bands, like Journey and Kansas being considered "Hard" rock. Maybe I need a better definition of Rock, Hard Rock, Alternative Rock, and Metal because I think I see all 4 on the list.

haha that list sucks, case closed- the very fact that they chose a non-Dio track to represent Rainbow means Bronze records had a hand in this on some level. I have never heard of that tune and I own all the "real" albums Rainbow ever made. If that song is somehow stronger than "Black Sheep of the Family" or "Kill the King" or "Gates of Bablyon" or even their fuckin COVER of "Still I'm sad" it would totally amaze me :mabs:

Since I have a compulsion to dissect such lists, here goes:

100) Sammy Hagar - I can't drive 55

I fucking hate this song. I love Sammy Hagar, but this song sucks ass in ways nothing has sucked ass before or since. I'd rather listen to Britney Spears farting for five minutes.

99) Grand Funk Railroad - We're an American Band

Great song, but I'm not sure I'd pick that as the best by them. Also not sure I'd classify them in the same category as Motorhead.

98) Buckcherry - Lit up

Huh? I've never heard this and tracked it down, and it's mediocre as fuck.

97) Edgar Winter's group - Frankenstien

Can't argue. Overplayed, but a classic.

96) Kansas - Carry on Wayward son

Hard rock? Huh?

95) Creed - Higher

And right here, the list lost all credibility. If there were 1,000,000 hard rock songs in existence, Creed could hope to rank no higher than 1,000,001.

94) The Darkness - I believe in a thing called Love

<shudder> Would you believe I actually bought this fucking CD blind when someone told me they were a great throwback to late 80s rock? Uh, maybe a throwback to what Winger sounded like before they learned to play and if they hired a castrated rooster to sing for them.

93) Autograph - Turn up the radio

Not bad, but among the hundred best, even with a limit of one song per artist? No.

92) Night Ranger - Don't tell me you love me

They had a song other than "Sister Christian" and "Sentimental Street"? News to me. Just looked it up, and it's about as bad as the Buckcherry song. I would've gone with "Sister Christian," if only for the "MOTORIN'!" chorus.

91) Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet with Butterfly wings

Cannot at all argue with this one. Maybe a little higher than it ranked, though.

90) Jethro Tull - Aqualung

This one should be way higher. I actually couldn't find this song for a long time after I first heard it, since I thought it was Black Sabbath, and nothing else from Jethro Tull is quite like it. It's that good.

89) Andrew W. K. - Party hard

Had to look this up, too. It's not bad; sounds like some weird nu-metal cover of an 80s new wave song. I dunno if I'd actually rank it, though.

88) Alice in Chains - Would?

Can't argue with this one, either. This is a band that probably deserves more than one song in the list.

87) Winger - Seventeen

Despite my dissing on them earlier, this is a great "guilty pleasure" hair metal song.

86) Marilyn Manson - The Beautiful People

I can't stand the douchebag, but, like Kurt Cobain, he's made some good music. I don't know that I'd rank anything he's recorded on this list, though.

that shitty "buck cherry" song is a rip-off of the riff from KISS "shock me" (an Ace tune) I knew it the second I heard it and hated it since it's basically a loop-track with someone "rapping" rock lyrics over it- also whether it's meant to be pro or con, it is making cocaine sound good (or trying to at least) and thus deserves NO credit

Wingers "17" has a fucking AWESOME riffs in it, the song is oddly WAY more complex than it sounds- and overall I just find it a funny song- the fact that a "grown up" could sing that with a straight face amuses me :ducks:

I thought it sounded vaguely familiar. Didn't immediately recognize it as "Shock Me." (By the way--"Rock and Roll All Nite" as the only KISS track? WTF?)

That's sorta the reason I fucking hate "Last Resort" by Papa Roach. It pisses me off that Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne were both raked over the coals back in the day for supposedly encouraging suicide in nonexistent backmasked lines or in songs about the dangers of drug abuse, and here this fucking bunch of no-talents can, whether being serious or not, actually encourage it and get away with it.

94) The Darkness - I believe in a thing called Love

I won't defend the song, but I kind of like it. Go watch the video. Its kind of funny if you think of it as more of a parody than a serious song. Sort of like Spinal Tap.

I can see that, but I don't see "Stonehenge" on the list, and that one actually is a good song aside from being a parody.

Here is the Darkness video. Youtube has the video, but they removed the audio. My favorite part is the guitar falling out of the ceiling. That should be incorporated into a STANSE or Rockin' Deuce video.
