This should not have been allowed. Superman is beyond the norm; Superman can come back from the grave without it affecting how his stories are told. Batman is a guy in a costume. This isn't him healing from a broken back. Without a total reboot, he's ruined.

Batman should not be involved in cosmic shit to begin with. I can think of no "Batman vs aliens" story that didn't blow. Ever. Including Batman vs Aliens. Okay, some involving Superman aren't bad at all. But he doesn't count.

The real criminal is Dan Didio. His bloodthirsty approach to DC and refusal to keep the borderline insane Morrison on a short leash is inexcusable. I think this is almost as retarded as there being a new Nightwing from the future, who's Kryptonian.

So, it looks like the current plan is that everyone (including people who make no sense to be doing so) will be fighting over the role of Batman. Never mind Jason should either be dead again or some deranged villain. Oh, and Azrael's getting a limited series, meaning he's not dead. So I'm guessing he might be involved, too. And Barbara Gordon appears likely to be Batgirl again.

Fuck, man, I went to Wikipedia to see what was up with Fabian "I Can Almost Write Well Enough to Sign My Own Name!" Nicieza was doing with his new version of Anarky. God damn. That man is a fucktard. God damn him. Some dude with no political philosophy or intelligence shot Lonnie Machin in the head and is holding him hostage while he takes the role of Anarky, reverting to a fairly generic supervillain.

Anarky's creator summed it up best:
