I've been looking forward to Serenityfor over a year now. I got hooked on Firefly like the rest of you after I bought the DVD ( I never watched it while it was on the air.) So I'm super jazzed for this movie and I go and it's the first movie I've seen in like two months and I'm watching it and they kill off Shepard Book and I'm like yeah that sucks 'cause he was kinda cool, but I can see the need to shuffle off one of the show regulars to add depth and drama and whatever. Then Wash has his big moment being "a leaf on the wind" and gets the crew safely to ground ( if you can call crashing the Serenity into the ground hard, safely). Wash gets in a patented Wash quip.

Then....

HE GETS A FUCKING SHAFT THE SIZE OF A TREE TRUNK PLANTED THROUGH HIS CHEST![:(!] WHAT. THE. FUCK.

After that I just couldn't get into the movie.

You need to watch Firefly: The Complete Series on DVD. Then go see Serenity in theatres now.

Then you'll cry like I did.

Y'know, I was at Joss Whedon's self-masturba--I mean, preview of Serenity--at Comic Con. I never watched the show before, but wanted a good seat for the King Kong preview and the Tenacious D concert. Whedon should've known there were many like me in the crowd. He could've won us over with a decent presentation that included even a ten second synopsis of what the show was about.

But instead of actually telling us what the fuck Firefly was, he just praised the cast, none of whom showed any talent in the clip that was shown, which was so devoid of any context as to be meaningless.

Whedon was such a dillhole, I stopped reading Astonishing X-Men. I'm still not sure how such an assfart could've come up with the few good issues he wrote, but I figure God had to somehow balance out the horrific banality that was that stupid show supposedly based on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I mean, Sarah Michelle Gellar replacing the luscious Kristy Swanson. Give me a damned break.
