They should've done this game at the old Tigers Stadium. Or at Comerica Park. Or at Ford Field. Or anywhere that actually holds a lot fans for a game that will no doubts have a bunch that want to watch.

That has been the biggest argument so far. Why not hold it at "The Big House" in Ann Arbor where 100,000+ can see it?

I heard they picked Wrigley because one of the guys involved in with the Black Hawks has something to do with the Cubs.

Kinda tough in old Tiger Stadium since they're tearing it down right now.

I completely forgot they were tearing down Tiger Stadium. Why should Detroit care about historical places anyways. :roll:

A small group of people (led by Ernie Harwell) did manage to raise enough money to preserve a tiny bit of the stadium for use as a museum.

- Wings sign Ty Conklin on the first day of free agency.

- Dallas Drake announces his retirement.
- The Chicago Blackhawks make an announcement that they will face the Wings on New Year’s at Wrigley Field.
- Wings re-sign Filppula for five years.

NHL Network To Show HNIC This Season

NEW YORK (October 3, 2008) –

With more live game coverage than ever before, NHL Network today unveiled its U.S. broadcast schedule for the 2008-09 regular season. It includes 75 regular-season games, all in HD.

Highlighting the schedule is the inclusion of CBC’s award-winning Hockey Night In Canada, now available to U.S. fans through NHL Network for the first time. Every Saturday night, NHL Network will not only broadcast the live Hockey Night In Canada double-header, but also the CBC pre-game show Scotiabank Hockey Tonight and post-game show After Hours.
