Winter Classic - Sabres vs. Penguins

most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

Moderators: Zero, John Madden, Bob Ross, General Zod, Richard Simmons, Batman

They should've done this game at the old Tigers Stadium. Or at Comerica Park. Or at Ford Field. Or anywhere that actually holds a lot fans for a game that will no doubts have a bunch that want to watch.

That has been the biggest argument so far. Why not hold it at "The Big House" in Ann Arbor where 100,000+ can see it?

I heard they picked Wrigley because one of the guys involved in with the Black Hawks has something to do with the Cubs.

Kinda tough in old Tiger Stadium since they're tearing it down right now.

Because that would make sense and I'd have better shot at being there.

Mike Illitch owns both the Wings and Tigers, and both of those teams that have actually done something in the last few years.

I completely forgot they were tearing down Tiger Stadium. Why should Detroit care about historical places anyways.

A small group of people (led by Ernie Harwell) did manage to raise enough money to preserve a tiny bit of the stadium for use as a museum.

I totally woke up this morning ready to read about Mats Sundin coming back to play with the Avalanche this year, only to find no news of the signing and/or decision anywhere. Did I honestly have a vivid (non-sexual you fucking retards) dream about Mats Sundin?

Scotty Bowman has left Detroit for a job in Chicago's front office.
Bummer?
Yeah, a little.
I guess.

A brief look at Detroit's summer (via Behind The Jersey):
- Wings win the Stanley Cup. That alone makes any summer absolutely amazing.
- Dominik Hasek retires.
- Wings extend Mike Babcock’s contract extension for three years.
- Brad Stuart signs to stay with Detroit for another four years.
- Todd McLellan leaves to become the head coach of San Jose.
- Wings sign Ty Conklin on the first day of free agency.
- The shocker of the summer: Marian Hossa signs a one year deal with Detroit!
- Dallas Drake announces his retirement.
- The Chicago Blackhawks make an announcement that they will face the Wings on New Year’s at Wrigley Field.
- Wings re-sign Filppula for five years.
- Scotty Bowman leaves to advise Chicago.
Edit: The blog linked above is by a girl (and from the pics, she ain't half bad lookin').

You did. You want to make steamy man-love to him.

If he doesn't stay put, the two most likely candidates are Montreal or Vancouver.

You'd think so, but it feels like ages since the mighty Wings hoisted Lord Stanley.

NEW YORK (October 3, 2008) –

With more live game coverage than ever before, NHL Network today unveiled its U.S. broadcast schedule for the 2008-09 regular season. It includes 75 regular-season games, all in HD.

Highlighting the schedule is the inclusion of CBC’s award-winning Hockey Night In Canada, now available to U.S. fans through NHL Network for the first time. Every Saturday night, NHL Network will not only broadcast the live Hockey Night In Canada double-header, but also the CBC pre-game show Scotiabank Hockey Tonight and post-game show After Hours.
