For the record, I've also never seen it. I don't have anything against it or anything, though.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

I should come clean too. I've never seen "The Blues Brothers"...unedited. I've only seen it on Comedy Central or USA Network or one of those channels. Am I missing anything good?
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.

Well see, now you guys have hyped up the Blues Brothers so much that is no way it can ever live up to the hype, so I don't think I should ever bother so I'm not let down.
I'll just watch the Jerk a few times instead.

The Jerk is a fantastic movie indeed.
Navin R. Johnson! Sounds like a typical bastard! - Random sonuvabitch typical run of mill bastard! lol. M Emmet Walsh is fucking awesome!

I know I went on record at the other site, or maybe it was here, I can't remember, but anyways, I have never seen The Blues Brothers either. My brother owns the DVD so I can watch it anytime. Too bad it wasn't an Oscar winner or I could watch it and include it with the challenge.
"Once there were brook trout in the streams in the mountains. You could see them standing in the amber current where the white edges of their fins wimpled softly in the flow. They smelled of moss in your hand. Polished and muscular and torsional. On their backs were vermiculate patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Maps and mazes. Of a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again. In the deep glens where they lived all things were older than man and they hummed of mystery."

You may be surprised to know that I worked in a video store for 3+ years and a couple of my friends worked at a theater. Between 89 and 92, I saw a lot of frickin' movies. I've probably seen The Jerk, but if I did, it has been close to 20 years and pretty much forgot most of it. Holy shit I'm old.

Anyway, if you note the crappy movies that came out between those years, like anything by Van Damm, Steven Segal, etc, you probably understand why I find it hard to watch movies now.

That is a little surprising. What may be even more surprising is that I too worked at a Video Store, for 3 years as well, between the years of 96-99 (high school years). Very good times btw. And my sister worked at a movie theater in the early 90s. I saw Aladdin like 10 times in the theater. lol. I'm 27, so I'm not too far behind you.

Van Damme I can understand, but I happen to like Seagal. lol. Under Siege is badass, just watched that one today actually. Out for Justise, Above the Law, Hard to Kill, On Deadly Ground, Fire Down Below, yeah, I like them all! I like most of his early work, mainly for their entertainment and action value, certainly not acting/directing, etc. and etc. Of course they all have sentimental value to me as well, which plays an important role. I loved to watch those movies when I was 10-early teens; good fun when you are that age, well, they were to me anyways. Like I said, I enjoy his early work, anything after Fire Down Below I can do without; haven't seen most of it.
