Exclusive -- For the past decade a secret has been kept. Unspoken and unshared but for a few men of power. A secret that could have cost one man his life. A secret that has never before been revealed. Until today.
Many of you have heard the name Deckard Smith. Especially in light of recent events, his name has become synonymous with the internet bogeyman. But who was he, really? Where did he come from? What is the secret behind the man? If he was a man.
Nobody knows who the original Deckard Smith was. Some attribute his username to the character from BladeRunner. Others suggest Smith is just a name like Jones. or Brown. But what we do know (or suspect, we don't have time to factcheck here) is that DeckardSmith was the pawn of someone so sinister and evil, we can't begin to describe him. DeckardSmith was the pointman for this individual's heinous operation. An operation that threatened the entire internet.
But before they could bring their evil machinations to fruition, DeckardSmith was caught and trapped by a SuperMod by the name of JediTricks at sirstevesguide.com. And for several years he was kept in a special coded forum, hiding in plain sight, but forever trapped. Forever unable to complete his dastardly plan. As time wore on, DeckardSmith discovered a way to break free and forced the webmasters at SSG to construct a special :Cellblock: to hold him. There he spent many years, as a constant vigil was kept, preventing him from doing anything more than scratch his own ass.
But his evil puppeteer missed his favorite henchman, and machiavellian plots were put into effect. This secret mastermind manipulated Action-Online into attempting to overthrow SSG for one very specific goal. To spring DeckardSmith from his internet prison. Realizing what was being planned, members of the cellblock created a new secret website to be used expressly for the purpose of holding this treacherous scumbag infinitely. Having no definitive purpose, the webmasters thought the new forum would be overlooked by the masters of Action-Online. And for many years it was. But soon, their seemingly random assaults began to take shape.
The first was the Romulans. Duped into creating a head-on attack, while the secret evildoers rampaged through the forums posts, searching for clues as to DeckardSmith's location. They were finally forced to give up when vynsane sacrificed months and months of archived posts to throw them off the trail. Next came the Action-Online ploy, the same gambit used at SSG years before. But since there was no definable purpose for the forum and website, there was no way to sell adspace to investors. Action-Online was foiled. Next they sent infiltrating users such as Perpantor and eventually thousands of spambots. Where they finally foound the weak link in the armor.
Forced to upgrade to a new software, it was the moment DeckardSmith had been waiting for. He slipped out of his cell during the changeover and bided his time. Waiting for the one man who could lead them back to his secret employer. Eternal Padawan.
Did webmaster vynsane knowingly keep a dangerous criminal hidden in the forums all these years? Was it for him and him alone to decide? To put the lives of others in danger? Is he responsible for the death of Eternal Padawan?
This Newsbot says yes. But we may never know the whole story.
