The BEER thread!!
I just realized that this is a more "adult" forum than certain other sites, and we don't have a thread devoted to the proper discussion of the fifth food group.
I wasn't sure if this should go under "Food," so screw off.
So, where to begin?
I'm not much for any major American beer myself. MGD is probably the best of the bunch.
English-speaking nations other than the US and Australia have the best: Guinness, Newcastle, Molson's.
Keep the discussion going, and give me more to talk about than listing a few good beers.

Well, as long as it's cold... I would drink nothing but stout or porter style beers all the time, but the selection here is pitiful...
Lately I buy "bootleg" beer from a local establishment, 2 litres (half a gallon) for 5 bucks, and they have a bunch of different stuff on tap, usually a few deadly ones and a couple not so great, but even the "not great" ones are about as good as the horse-piss that gets bottled by the big breweries, fucking Molson Canadian is pure shit up here and I imagine since it got bought by a US company they found out how to cut more corners- I prefer beer that was brewed to the strength it gets bottled at, a lot of stuff gets brewed as strong malt liquor, shipped in concentrate form and then diluted and re-bottled elsewhere so that companies can keep the "made in" stuff sounding legit....
so yeah, I likes darker, REAL beers
A LOT

I actually have one of those, vyn. It's from a brewery (Stone?) in San Diego, and they sell them at several spots locally.
The beer tastes like absolute horseshit, though. Not because it's dark beer, which I usually like, but because it's simply nasty stuff.
Speaking of such cool pint glasses--and this is mainly for KH, or for vyn when you make trips to NC--go to a joint called Macado's. It's a chain bar & grill in VA and NC. Order any non-beer mixed drink that comes in a pint glass, and you can keep the glass (or they'll give you a clean one). They're cool as hell, and they update them regularly with new artwork and the year. I've got a bunch of them. They also give away shot glasses, if you're sober enough after several shots to remember.
Okay, they did as recently as two years ago. I assume they still do.

Who isnt a drunk Klepto? I always took pinty glasses from bars. Most of the time unintentional as I walked outside with a drink, then went to my car and drove to get some smokes.
There is a place in the Village that will charge a $5 deposit on glasse, so if you take em, you bought em. But when returned, 5 bucks in hand.

I have different favorites for different situations:
1) If I'm getting FUCKED up, its Miller Lite
2) If I'm drinking for enjoyment and to get sorta hammered, its Molson Canadian (My absolute fav)
3) If I'm in a sipping mood, its Hobgoblin (imported from England. Expensive ass shit), Sam Adams Seasonal (either Oktoberfest or Winter Ale) or Bell's (a microbrew from the west side of Michigan. They do several different styles, their winter ale being the best).
My father-in-law brews his own and does it well. He brewed a Guinness-esque stout recently that was awesome. It was heavier and creamier than Guinness and each 12-oz. serving had (drumroll please) 525 calories. He also makes a fantastic Belgian.
