browser wars 2.0
well, within a couple of days of each other, Micro$oft and Mozilla foundation released the newest versions of their browsers, Internet Explorer 7 and Mozilla Firefox 2.0... the browser wars return with a vengeance. i, of course, recommend installing firefox2.

quite a bit, actually... there's an auto-complete "suggestions" drop-down in the search bar that gives you suggestions on finishing what you're searching for... for example, if i start to type "eps" in the search bar, it will drop down with suggestions like "epson", "epson printers" and "epson.com" and so on...Rogue II wrote:How much has changed in 2.0?
there's also a passive spell checker on all form fields, such that you would find in a forum... just like thunderbird, it underlines words it doesn't like/recognize. pretty sweet!
while IE7 is a vast improvement over IE6, that's like saying rob liefeld's artwork today is a vast improvement over his work in the 90's, basically saying that IE still sucks.

Re: browser wars 2.0
Ok, Firefox rocks. We all know that. I've been messing with add-ons. AdBlock Plus is a handy. It pretty much blocks all ads. When I go to the other site, and none of the banner ads show up. It also takes out those stupid flash ads that pop up.
I just downloaded another add-on called PicLens. If you do image searches on yahoo or other things, it's pretty cool. Not quite as a "necessity" as ABP, but just a cool thing to have.

PicLens instantly transforms your browser into a full-screen 3D experience for viewing images across the web. Our new interactive "3D Wall" lets you effortlessly drag, click, and zoom your way around a wall of pictures for an extraordinary viewing experience. The new search box lets you search the Web in full-screen using Google, Yahoo, SmugMug, Flickr, Photobucket, and DeviantArt. Just type a query and view all the results in the PicLens wall.
"Visually, the results are stunning. This Firefox plugin is going to find a lot of fans very, very quickly." - Review on Techcrunch.com
" Coolest Web photo viewer ever . . . It's stunning." -- Review by CNET
Piclens is currently works on:
* Flickr, Smugmug, DeviantArt, Photobucket, Picasa
* Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Hi5, Friendster
* Image search on Google, Yahoo, Ask, Live, and AOL
* A growing number of Media RSS-enabled web sites
With PicLens, viewing images on the web will never be the same again.
