Re: X-Mutants ( The
I'll put this here instead of the thread I started because I forgot this one and now it's about sliding timelines anyway. I was today years old when I learned the nobody who wrote the Jubilee backup story in Uncanny X-Men Annual #13 (one of my first X-books) was really Chris Claremont writing under ...
Re: X-Men '97
For anyone not caring about spoilers, the final episode was Annie Ghazikhanian, the nurse character Chuck Austen stuffed into all his stories and had on a dating roulette with Havok, Iceman, and several other X-Men, her son Carter, and Sammy “Squid-Boy” Paré walking around the Farmer’s Market and t...

So long, Don Perlin. I first encountered your work on Transformers, but you're best remembered for co-creating Moon Knight.
Re: X-Men '97
Next season will be a doozy. I especially loved that they set up Onslaught, even throwing in a line or two in the finale that seemed to foreshadow his coming... then completely went another direction entirely. Also not just saying it because they're the two greatest, but Nightcrawler and Jubilee com...

If it happened in Latveria, yeah. I can even see him saying that this was the work of cowards and agreeing to put aside any differences to enact switch retribution.Tom Foolery wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2024 10:38 amBut Dr. Doom shedding a single tear is retroactively super extra cringe. Get the fuck outta here with that shit.

Re: I have decided upon undertaking a massive X-cursion...
I said 23 years ago that this was one of the two big problems with Marvel having the characters react realistically to 9/11. I get that it was a major event in the real world, but was Peter Parker even born yet according to today's view of the sliding timeline? (Not to mention the other issue that k...

Re: I have decided upon undertaking a massive X-cursion...
Annnnd…Wanda and Pietro are also also not mutants…. SURPRISE! [paper party horn noise] Now that everyone, including Marvel, have been reminded which team is Marvel's true crown jewel, I fully expect an "EVERYTHING YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW IS WRONG!" issue retconning them back to being Erik's ...

Re: I have decided upon undertaking a massive X-cursion...
I forgot Captain Britain and Ms Marvel, who also will be major chunks of story. So no real reason to leave out Namor, especially with him kicking ass and all. If there's no easy way to determine a full chronological list, I could work from publication order and compile a master list. Trying to come ...

I have decided upon undertaking a massive X-cursion...
...but I might need a lot of help. I've been in and out of comics for decades. I've subscribed to Marvel Unlimited, mostly so my kids can read older stories and I can read old Dark Horse Star Wars comics that I missed and don't want to take out a second mortgage to read. Almost everything Marvel has...

Re: Screen Legend Heston Dies
I read somewhere that the twist in the 2001 film is closer to the book’s actual twist than the 1968 film. It is. Still not terribly close, but closer than the Statue of Liberty twist. The original is a very quick read, and quite good. Typical 50s/60s sci-fi, but well-done. It's completely different...
Re: X-Men '97
Tell me who did it and I will kick him in the nuts. (Apologies, though you did a better job avoiding shit than me. DeMayo can write a kickass story, but he spoiled this shit a couple of weeks ago.) I'm still pissed over Chuck Austen's bullshit. The guy accidentally set up a potentially incredible re...

Not really "hidden," but I'm guessing X-Men Vol. 2 #25 is worth a fuckton more today than it was on Tuesday.

Damn.
Second time I've wondered if they'd GO THERE and the answer has been a resounding "Fuck yes, they will."
Next week will be nucking futs, and someone else ain't walking away.
